Flower Arranging

Since we all love to garden maybe this will be a good topic.
for me it's about the garden club. Every month there are titles for our arrangements. in september I did "keeping mum" with a tiny cream colored basket and rust mums.
This month the topics are:
Make room for the Turkey - Creativity
Could Autumn be ending soon? Tri-color
Ask you like it
i'm thinking of using the Turkey Platter a bunch of autumn leaves and that is as far as I have gotten with the first topic.
With the second topic I'm thinking of using the really tall columnar vase with autumn leaves again and the last of the zinnias and mums. Not real creative but it's in the ball park right? The colors would be autumn gold, orange zinnia, and cream mums.
I don't know what the third topic means. Maybe the "k" is a mistake?

maybe it is tammy. i don't know. but i admire anyone who enjoys flower arranging. i have the skill, the knowledge of how it is supposed to work, and way more experience that i like so i don't like doing it very much. i have to be ultra motivated (think making wedding flowers to keep from having to buy them).

If I were making a Make Room for Turkey I'd do like you Tammy and use something like a platter and keep it low. Maybe use some leaves and fruit and nuts.
For Autumn Ending I'd use the last of the flowers and some bare branches and maybe a dogwood branch with berries. A little color a little bare.
I think you're right about no letter k. As you like it.
Do you meet once a month and take all 3 arrangements at the same time?
This is fun.

Do ask if the k was intentional. And if it was, I'd do something around a kid's Christmas wish list.

Tina, that is a good idea. Greenery from my yard could be used sort of Christmas tree-esk and I can make a small paper list and get doll house toys at Hobby Lobby and put picks on them. Cute.
duh keep us posted on which you decide to take to the club.

The k was a volunteer letter. So it is as you like it.
I ended up doing two very simple arrangements. One in a bud vase I used the hot lips salvia, one yellow mum, and asparagas fern. I called it, "Final Fall Fiesta."
The other was a mix of rosemary, sage and chocolate mint. And I called it, "Stuffing Anyone?" to go with the turkey catagory.
i'm not sure about pictures but I'll try when I get home.

I found out I can use flowers from a florist for my arrangements so I'll be able to get in my 6 this year. Yeah!

When the winter jasmine blooms I'm going to use my Eiffel tower vase and do "Spring in Paris," for the title. Fun huh?

Ok, it is time for the january meeting on the 12th. The subjects for the arrangements are: Let it Snow - creativity, A New Start - tri-color, and the catchall as you like it.
I have some dusty miller that I can use for the "Let it Snow" and maybe some white roses and then pampa grass if I can find some.
"A New Start" is harder. Any ideas? It has to be 3 colors in the arrangement.
And the other one is basically anything.
I need two arrangements to complete the six.

I'll have to ask about the shades. I don't know the answer. I was sitting around the house and completely forgot about the luncheon. I guess I'll have to wait until next month.

Ok march is suppose to be corsages or bonnets with fresh flowers. Don't even ask me what I'm going to do about this one. Thank heaven I have a hat box.
