how to keep the hose
« on: Oct 29, 2015, 02:58:21 PM »
Hey everyone!

This year was very hard for me, because we moved to a new house with a neglected garden.
I had to start gardening and learn a lot of new things about it.
I have a question to you people. Where do you put the hoses? is there a special place? My hoses are heavy and when they lie I always stumble...

Any solution?

thanks!

Welcome, Mike. Hoses in my yard have a fairly permanent home. I just make sure to pick my feet up when walking. I live in the desert though. Others may have a different idea for you.

Welcome to SSH.

Hoses around here are usually rolled up best they can next to the faucet. In the winter time, drained and laid out straight on slight incline (to help further drain them).

I've got a couple of hose reels that work well.  I think they came form Lowes.  I have 200' of hose on each so that lets me reach pretty much anything.  I do have a few more hoses though and those are usually hanging somewhere.  I bought some hangers from Harbor Freight that work good and are easy to mount just about anywhere.  I can dig up a picture if you want.

We have reels too and in the winter we cover our faucets with covers from Lowes.  We've never had water freeze in the hose but our winters aren't as severe as others.

Mine have a permanent location, much like tina's. But that's due to where the spigot is. I have a shut off on the end of the hose.
