I'm finished the last of the pathway on flower 3 not flower 4 so instead of being one week behind I am two weeks behind maybe.  Or maybe not because I've done some of the flowers out of order.  Messy me...

since I'm a deadline I really need to take a look at this one and see where I am.  I know I need to cut more of the pathway blocks.  I'm kind of waiting for the iron sole plate to arrive before I do any more ironing.  That snag on the bottom of the iron really makes  a mess of the pieces when it catches something.

My friend brought me a book that tells how to do these.  i'm going to sit down and read it.  i could use some good hints and tips at this point.

yes it is.  And the iron shoe came in the mail.  It went on very smoothly.  Now I just have to get up the gumption to try and use it.  Cross your fingers that it works as well as advertised.  I really need it to work.

It works great.  It is wider than the bottom of my iron by a bit so I have to more the iron farther over the fabric to get all the heat but that's no problem.

Good. I went and looked up iron shoes to check them out because I had never heard of the before.

I had to do some research.  Most of them have really bad reviews but this brand actually had an aluminum form that the teflon was melded with.  That makes it much sturdier.

I was able to get over 10 petals ironed on to their templates with them this morning.  And I made a discovery, if I starch the front side then turn it over for the template even this cheap fabric will behave well.

I got two petals attached to flower 4.  Now if I am not sadly mistaken I should be on flower 6.  Flower 5 in done and 6 is basted so I am a fair way away from where I am suppose to be but with a year and a half deadline from mid-march I'm way ok in my opinion.

I am so confused, lol.  I know I was putting pathway blocks around a flower today but I'm not at all sure which one it was or where I'm suppose to be.  When I figure it out I'll let everyone know including myself.

after over an hour on the calendar I'm pretty sure I'm only one hexie away from hitting goal for the day.  I think I can do that.  Of course I'm off goal on the bricks over on Spanish Bond.

got the hexie on at the meeting last night.  Had to do it twice because I wasn't paying attention and put it on backwards the first time.  But done is done.  So I'm golden.  Today all that is needed is adding it to the flimsie.  i'm going to do that at the cutting board since the ladder stitch is easier for me when I can lay it on a flat surface.

ask me why getting flower 4 on the top is so hard and I'd have to shrug.  It is giving me problems and slowing me down.  But I went around it for the meeting and basted two flower petal groups so they are ready to be put together when the time comes.

I finally got flower four attached to the top yeah!  The I attached flower 5 to the top thinking that doing the pathway while it is on the top may be easier.  We will see.

Made flower 6 while I was watching tv.  I've got to cut some pathway pieces and get them basted.

I still need to cut some pathway pieces and get them basted.  I've not made any progress at all.  Boy was my calendar overly optimistic.

Ok the pathway pieces are cut, ironed on to the templates and basted.  I've loaded them into the tote and I'm taking them to the meeting today.

I got all of one piece sewn on to the top.  I talk too much.  Does that surprise anyone?
