« on: Sep 13, 2016, 08:26:15 PM »
Here you go, the various stages of Weston's baby blanket in progress.  I'm down to 6 rounds plus the edging.

From this:

it looks good, Jen. Has she been planning for this baby at home? Purchasing anything?

believe me i am.  if i get at all "twingy" i quit.  or if i get bored with it. or just tired of it. or... it takes me so long on a project because i put them down a lot. :)

she has done some purchasing and i'll help matthew get whatever they else they need when i get there.  i don't think she has a clue. they just bought the car seat a couple days ago.

Awesome. I can see why the doily  caused hissy fits.

That is too cute! I am sure that Jessika will enjoy it... :)

Love the mermaid blanket and the doily, also. I don't think I would have the patience to even work on a doily... :grinnnn:

They go very quickly.  When I was making them I think I got it down to about an hour and a quarter for a round one.

tammy, they do work quickly, in general.  and yes, a round one is fairly fast.  especially if you are doing straight fans, straight shells, pineapples, or other repeat pattern stitches.  the problem with this one is that it is not round, and the pattern is a one half of the oval is this way, repeat for the second half.  next round, it is something different but still in that do this for half then repeat.  but within the "do this for half" there are a ton of variations.  ch 7, tr 3, ch3, ch 4, ch 7, tr 4, ch 7, tr 4... or whatever.  it is tiring but i'll be happy and proud when it is done.

certainly not something you want to do while watching tv.  It sounds like the author got writer's cramp with those directions.  I started doing doilies on Okinawa and use charts since I couldn't read the directions.
