Knitting
« on: Nov 20, 2016, 03:06:04 PM »
I'm back to the knitting.  I'm doing the two needle socks.  I love this pattern.  I've just turned the heel and I'm headed for the toe on the first one.

Is anyone else knitting?

Knitting will give you something sedetary to do when you are aching.
I learned to cast on, do a basic stitch and cast off. Not having left handed teacher's I kept getting lost. So knitting is not for me.

I bought a book at abebook.com called the knitting answer book.  It is a marvelous book.  It has wonderful directions on how to do the technical bits to get things together.  Anyway it should be here mid-month of December.  I might wait until then to seam the sock so I get it right.

Socks are done.  All I need is the picture now.  I think this will be the first picture with the tripod since I fixed the camera...scary.

Now I've started a knitted sampler afghan.  It will be 120 8 inch squares in different knit patterns.  That should give me a good idea of what I like as far as knit patterns.  And by the time i'm done I'm figuring a little over two years I should be ready to do just about anything.

I finished the stockinette and garter stitch blocks and I'm working on the moss block.  It's going slowly because I have to back up a great deal.

Did the 2x3 rib knit, and the flat rib knit, and then the broken rib knit.  Now I'm working on a moss rib block.  So it is coming right along.

I swatched the Edin Sweater and I was to tight.  But I'm thinking that it is the caron yarn it is thin compared to other yarns so I'm thinking of doing it in the bernat yarn instead.  I think I might have enough.

So that catches up what I'm doing in this craft lol.

I just finished the seersucker block and started on the basketweave block.  There are evidently and entire group of these each with it's own name.  I don't know what all the differences are but i'm sure I'll be finding out.

The furry socks are kind of in limbo and I'm not even sure why.

i have the yarn for titania and the moss jacket.  I don't know when I'll get the time to actually work on them.

the basketweave was actually called 5/5 Check.  It came out nice I think.  Now, I'm doing one that is some kind of broken rib knit.  I don't remember the name at the moment.

Finished it what ever it was called, lol.  Now I'm working on a 6/6 Moss Stitch Check.  Very confusing.  I don't know how people manage to make these really complicated designs.  Even the simple ones by comparison give me kittens.
