Beetles on my rhubarb
« on: Jul 13, 2007, 03:59:29 PM »
There are oddles & oodles of these guys on my rhubarb!  Looks like they're snacking! (I'm not seeing them on any thing else in my veggie garden.)

As you can see, they have a red spot on their backs.

What are they & how do I get rid of them?

I saw one of those bugs on the deck tonight, Patty. I don't know what it is, but am hoping to find out soon, too...

I took A sprayer of Safer (brand) "Insect Killing Soap" out there this morning, & ~~ ZAP ~~ ...one squirt & they dropped off like bad habits, DEAD!

There were several of these guys out there on the rhubarb,

but I shooed them off before I sprayed, cuz I seem to remember reading somewhere that these are "good" bugs... they eat aphids or something. I don't know what these are called either, but I'm going to see if I can find the link where I read about them.
