Here in the St. Louis area, it got up to 89 degrees today and the air was very heavy and muggy,   hot so it was hard to breathe.  This afternoon we got the first of some thunderstorms and a lot of rain.   applause Then sbout dinner time, another storm came through and dumped some more heavy rain, clap about 8:30 we got hit with the last of the storms and the sky really opened up for about 30 minutes.  ThumbUp  Fortunately, these storms were not dangerous and the rain was a welcome sight.  At least, I won't have to water any of my flowers for a few days.  Wink Actually, it's only 73 right now and I'm very comfortable, so I have all my windows open.     Smiley

Here its been a tad cool in the mornings this past week (upper 70s) and getting to upper 80s/lower 90s by mid-day with scattered t-storms. Today we woke up with perfectly clear skies and it was lower 80s by 9:00 a.m.  Predicted high 90s by mid-day. Maybe my pool will finally warm back up  grinnnn  And don't even ask about himidity. I live on the FL Gulf coast. It's ALWAYS humid!

Phil, your weather sounds like what we get in the spring...

I was out this morning working on my garden beds and it was actually nice. smile It's getting a little warmer now, but it's overcast so it's not too bad. The temperature is 86 but the humidity is only 57%, which is kind of surprising  ScratchHead with all the rain that we got  last night.  Of course, my flowers are looking very happy!!! Glee

Geesh, it got up to 88 today hot and the humidity was high, so it was not a nice day to be outside.   smileyNo  It's 72 right now, with a heat index of 76.  I've been sitting outside and it was very comfortable.  Guess I better enjoy it while I can because they are predicting temperatures in the 90's for the next four days.  yikes Darn, I'm off school for a little while, but I won't be able to spend much time in the garden. We have a 50% chance of showers here so may not get to mow again tonight.  It's supposed to start up in the afternoon.  Right now it's 73 with a heat index of 80.  They are saying we will get to 92 today with a heat index of 103  hot

It was foggy this morning on my way to work but it has about burned off now.

Yikes Jim! That sounds yucky. razberry

Today it's suppose to be hot hot hot...and clear. I don't mind the hot so much if there are clouds, but when it's sunny it feels like it's baking you!

I did manage to catch the forecast yesterday, so while it was cloudy and cool I managed to get ALL of the back yard very well watered...which means less work this week trying to keep all those new trees and shrubs alive.  ThumbUp

It is only 85.5 here right now. Must be because of storm clouds that are hanging over us. Might not get to mow again tonight.... Sad

It's clear and sunny here today...and H O T !!!

It did cool way down last night, though, and is suppose to again tonight. That certainly helps keep the house cool.

It is 89.5 here and a hot sun in the sky. Our predicted high is 94 and I think it will get there.

I will be mowing on the tractor this evening. Hope it gets a little cooler... Smiley

Well, after a very hot and humid day we are getting a little relief with the temperature at 72 degrees right now.  smile I guess I better enjoy it while I can since I just got a severe weather alert saying "HEAT INDICES NEAR 105 DEGREES EARLY NEXT WEEK...

A LARGE AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE CURRENTLY OVER THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES WILL GRADUALLY BUILD EAST INTO THE MIDWEST BY MONDAY. AS IT DOES...AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB INTO THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S. WINDS WILL TURN OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST OVER THE WEEKEND USHERING MORE HUMID AIR INTO MISSOURI AND ILLINOIS. THE COMBINATION OF THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL CAUSE HEAT INDEX VALUES TO CLIMB ABOVE 100 DEGREES IN THE ST. LOUIS METRO AREA AS EARLY AS SUNDAY. HEAT INDICES MONDAY INTO WEDNESDAY ARE CURRENTLY FORECAST TO BE AROUND 105 DEGREES DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING HOURS..."   hot yikes

Geesh, I really don't think I'm ready for this one.  smileyNo  Guess this is going to mean an early end to my gardening chores and my gardens.  Sad I'm really not too sure that all my plants will be able to withstand these tempertures either.   Crybaby I'm afraid this heat wave is going to be pretty bad.   scaredy

Well, at least, we're getting a little break tonight with the temperature at 75 degrees, but the humidity is still pretty high.  Sad There's a chance of us getting some isolated thunderstorms tomorrow, and we sure could use some rain.  smile  Geesh, with the hot temps and lack of moisture in the ground all my plants are suffering.   yikes

It is 95 here, with a heat index of 104. Humidity is 49%. Talking about breathing through water... hot

I was planning on digging up some iris today for Patty and Sarah, but I think it will wait. Patty assured me that as long as I get the bulbs to them before February, we will be good to go on that, though... ThumbUp

Sure was good to hear that I don't have to go through heat exhaustion... Wink

Monday and Tuesday we have a high forecast of 100 with a real feel of 110.  I don't think we have hit any triples yet this year.  The pool water was 90 today so it will start to feel like a bath tomorrow I bet.  Still feels good to get in there late in the evening.

Yesterday and today we finally got sun after a solid week of rain and storms. My pool got down to 76. Finally got back up to 80 today and boy did it feel good when I finally got a chance to get into it. The thermometer on the back patio (covered & screened) said it wast 97 today at one point with a humidity level of 79.... so I can just imagine what the temp was in the sun and with the heat index. I know it was VERY HOT. Would have been a great day to spend in my pool. Unexpected company precluded any thoughts of that. About 4:30, I couldn't stand it any more... I went in even though they were still here. Shame on me!  Hey, they were invited in, they chose not to.

It promises to be a scorcher here today. It's 6:30 a.m. and already its 80 degrees with 80% humidity. Heat index is 90. They are predicting the temps to reach 100 not even taking into account the heat index. Sure glad I work in air conditioning. And I feel for those who have to work outside. This is when the local news starts reporting on the outdoor workers who succumb to heat stroke.
