The vest continues. I'm now shaping the armhole and lapel. I'd like to be done before christmas but that seems like a short deadline.
-
I've started on the second front panel so I'm happy with the results so far.
-
done past the point and the side slits but haven't gotten to the armhole yet. I'm about 6 rows away. It's comming along.
-
Good going,Tammy. We will see pictures of it complete?
-
Only if you go to ravelry.com and look me up tkhooper. It will be in my projects. I can't upload to photobucket for some reason so I can't bring it over here.
-
duh,I thought maybe you had posted a picture of the started vest but I checked raverly and nope. You do have some other good stuff there though.
-
i just put up my latest projects in my crochet thread... right now it is christmas ornaments that i need to start, a dish towel that i have already started, and an ongoing blanket project.
-
What kind of blanket are you doing?
No I usually don't to in process pictures over there your right. I need to get back on that project. I've let other things get in the way.
-
I finished the vest pieces and pinned them together. It is way to small. I'm not sure how I managed to do that. So I'm adding to the sides which is increasing the armhole creating a whole new problem. I really want to pull it all out and start again. Even though that will through my time line way off. But if I don't like it I won't wear it. I love these kinds of quandries.
I don't know what I'll do for a crochet project after this.
-
Are you wanting to wear this vest for a particular event - hence the time line?
-
i hate that for you tammy. and that is why i don't generally do "wearables" although i have a couple projects floating in my mind that i would like to do.
-
The timeline is just about my ravelry queue. nothing tight.
I have all the non-wearable I need so it's wearables or nothing. Ok, let me amend that. I do have cup organizers to do. They are for pencils and such.
But for the other stuff I need different yarn. So I'm sticking with this.
-
I had to stop and make a sunglass case. It only took a day and looks good. Now it's back to the vest. I have faith that I'll get it done at some point and then have a good pattern to work from for other vests. That's the up side so to speak.
-
that's a good upside. i am making a miniature pig. think made with #20 crochet cotton. size 8 steel hook. won't be much bigger than 2 inches. way smaller than typical amurigami.
-
Jen, what are you going to do with the little oinker?
-
it's going to my best friend's husband. he has a miniature pig collection. she saw the piggy cup cozy i did and decided he needed a piggy. just the pig though, not the cozy. so i'm working on it. it is slow going, mostly because i forget i have it with me, and i can't do it without looking at it, the work is too small to do by feel (i do a lot of my larger work while reading or otherwise visually occupied).
-
I can't read and work but I can watch tv and work.
-
Finished the vest.
Did a little butterfly grace.
Am planning a cocktain dress for the barbie doll.
-
i'm still working on that teeny tiny little pig.
-
I would have no idea of where to start on an animal.
i did the barbie doll dress, reading glass case this month.
-
I did a very quick apron with bib yesterday to do some de-stashing. That and I've wanted an apron forever. This one I used safety pins for the bib.
-
I did a quick cup caddy for storing office tools, pens, pencils, compass, scissors and the like.
-
still working on the mini-pig and started a commissioned tablet cover like the one i made for me.
-
Did I see your tablet cover?
-
i don't know but i'll post pictures of both of them when i get this one done.
-
are you still working on the same projects? I've slowed down because of the work going on in the house.
-
i am. i have the pig going (or not as the case may be) and the tablet cover. i just haven't been in the mood lately.
-
I can so understand that.
-
the pig is still in progress, and now i have started a pillow cover for mom, and a baby blanket.
-
I'm doing cup organizers for the quilt show in March of 2016. So far I had two done and hope to complete 2 more. We'll see how it goes.
-
you'll have to get a photo tammy. i don't know what you mean by that.
-
I'll see what I can do. Right now I'm taking a break from taking the computer to the shop. We've made three or four trips and it's not getting any better. I'm going to have to take in the entire thing printer and drivers and all pretty soon and I'm just not up to it.
-
I forgot I was suppose to get pictures. Oooops! I've completed another one and am working on a 4th and they are all different.
-
4th is done and they are loaded to go to the quilt club on friday. I guess no picture unless I take some at the quilt show.
-
i hope you are able to get some. i am finishing up another baby blanket. and doing some more thread work.
-
What kind of thread work? Inquiring minds want to know as usual.
-
the thread work was just some poppies for work. for veteran's day. they are done. oh, that's not true. i am also doing some hair pin lace in metallic thread. that is NOT done.
-
I love those poppies. Metallic thread is the worst for my hands. Well that and guard hair wool. ugh!
-
Tis the season to be busy, fa, la, la ... I started a pair of slippers done in crochet just so i have more than one pair for the future. I was going to buy the pattern but I'm so broke I couldn't. I think I can figure it out although that usually means having to frog it several times before I have a good facsimile. Or you doing an hand work?
-
Well I got the sole done on the first slipper and I've started up the sides. So far so good.
-
I crocheted slippers once for my daughter. I made the soles out of heavy suede of an old vest circa a 1970's hippie phase. They looked like ugg boots only colorful.
-
I'm not happy with the start on mine. I will probably frog it.
-
Finished the Black and Silver Snood.(https://www.southernspirithunters.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv660%2FTKHooper%2FProjects%2FCreative%2520Crochet%2FBlack%2520amp%2520Silver%2520Snood_zpsapkgsass.jpg&hash=201e154aa5e8b73669aba5b2db769f4e35d22e75) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/TKHooper/media/Projects/Creative%20Crochet/Black%20amp%20Silver%20Snood_zpsapkgsass.jpg.html)
-
very nice. i have a "messy bun" beanie to post and 3 other projects in progress.
-
That is excellent. I look forward to seeing them.
-
Here are a couple of really small projects. Sorry Photobucket is moving so slowly I can't get it over here.
-
right now, the messy bun beanie is finished, but in the car - i just didn't want to go get it today. and, i'm a little over half done with zoe's mermaid blanket, i was farther along but pulled out what i had done because i didn't like it. i like it much better now. i have a scarf for jess that i am working on to match the beanie, that dang doily, and a sweater for me. the sweater is on hold, pending more yarn (ellie is bringing it to me), the scarf is just fill in work, the doily frustrated me enough that i started the blanket, and the blanket has to be done next week for zoe's birthday. the mermaid blanket is the largest thing i've made in a long time, and it would not even be possible if i weren't using an N hook, because right now, my hands are not cooperating with the smaller hooks... big sigh
-
I'm sorry to hear about your hands. I'm still dealing with the wounds from when Glenda didn't want to go to the vet.
It's weird how everything will start or end at one time. The middle time is very frustrating because it seems like nothing is getting done. I've filled in with a bunch of scrap using small projects.

This is a barrette I call it my hair knot. I couldn't resist.

These are little towel holders. They are great and simple. I love them.
-
I want to try a little owl bookmark next. I just need a little push.
-
Did another t-towel holder. I haven't gotten a picture yet.
-
Did the little owl bookmark. Pictures later. I just am not in the mood yet.

This is the little owl bookmark. I love it and it worked up in minutes.
-
Cute, Tammy.
-
Very cute, Tammy! :good2:
-
I like it tammy! I might have to copy that!!
-
It would be great for the library. Enjoy!

You have done enough crochet you can get through her directions I think. I used 3 different colors of yarns for the body and one more for the beak and toes. It is currently residing in the book I'm reading.
(https://www.southernspirithunters.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv660%2FTKHooper%2FProjects%2FCreative%2520Crochet%2FSoapBoat_zpszj4trh0m.jpg&hash=938973b025686558219a6415a0b3edc0d30a9bbb)
This was going to be a sponge cover but I ran out of yarn so it is a soap boat. The ribbon was from the case the soap was in.
-
thank you tammy!
-
Your welcome Jenn. I've already gotten a complement on it. It is a cute. And it takes no time at all to work up.
-
i shared it at work. i'm going to suggest it would make a good teen program. i'll "donate" crochet hooks for them to use, and i have a bunch of little balls of yarn.
-
How cool! You are a wonder and the library is lucky to have you.
-
 thank you
