You won't know how you ever lived without it.

Not looking back. Satellite will be canceled real soon, its been turned off for good, used satellite internet since 1999, two different companies.

Loving it so far, pretty sure for quite sometime. Never in my life would have thought it would become available here.

No more going out in the snow to brush snow of the dish and/or knocking snow off branches to use internet.

Satellite internet went bye bye yesterday.

Think I'm in love now or may be its a crush, I don't know.

Yeah, we love our broadband even though according to Speedtest if's slower than 61% of the US.

Congrats.

What was the speed of the satellite?  We thought about that before DSL became available but it was cost prohibitive at the time.  HughesNet was about all that was available.

What was the speed of the satellite?

1000/200, latency up to 5000 ms.

Never going back to satellite, its gawd awful, my opinion of course.

I use to complain about Mediacom but I used to get over 5Mb down with them. Not as good with Knology.

Wow. The first one was on my laptop. This one is on my desktop. Same connection except LT is wirelessly connected.

Not so sure I could deal with satellite. or Dial up.

I know now that if I need to do any real online stuff, I need to do it from my desktop. lol

wireless is always slower than direct connect.  but still not bad.

That may be, but that is a BIG difference. lol

Wireless is dependent on the standard supported by the router.  For example if the router is 802.11g then the stated maximum is 54 Mbps.  802.11n has a theoretical bandwidth maximum of 300 Mbps.  Your normal ethernet wired connection is 100 Mbps.

Wired connections are always the fastest option but not the most practical in most cases.

Pretty accurate, should get 3000/768.

Though only 4 days old.

Still no complaints. Current speeds are 6 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up.
