This is how I know it's fall. This dainty camellia is the first to bloom every year.

And this is the lemon tree Dianna sent me two (I think) years ago.

Pretty!! I brought all our citrus trees in for the winter as we are already getting frost! Love the roses!!
-
So pretty!
-
Beautiful. I especially like the camellia.
-
My lemon tree hasn't put out any fruit yet...
That knockout rose is beautiful... :grinnnn:
-
I have 2 lemons growing. Wonder if it's going to be warm enough for the lemons to ripen. I over wintered this in my little greenhouse.
-
I stand corrected. I just spoke to Johnny and he DID pay John. He went by and paid him this morning. I should have known. I think Johnny has SUCKER tattooed on his forehead.
-
Beautiful. I especially like the camellia.
me too. i want some camellia trees... eventually i guess.
-
Will camellias grown in GA Jen. I've never noticed any when I've been to Ginger's.
-
Camellias grow in California. They probably would in Ga too.
-
what about N. Fla?
-
hey should. They do need acid food. We can grow small azaleas too. Just not rhodies. Those need more chilling than we can give them.
-
camellias and azaleas grow just fine in georgia and NW florida. i've had them and/or had friends/relatives with them both places. i just don't have any.
-
I knew azaleas did. They are everywhere around here.
-
Only smaller azaleas will grow here. If we try bigger ones, they dry up faster than roots can suck up water.
I wish camellias smelled as good as they look.

For all you living with the cold and snow here's what's growing in my yard today. The clematis doesn't usually bloom in October.

Really nice, Sheri.
-
Pretty. I really like the white one... :good2:
I have some purple clematis blooming now, too, Sheri. And some brugsmansias. I don't have pics yet, but I will try to remember to take some... :grinnnn:
-
I had one Brug bloom a few weeks ago, and now there are 6 bud on the tree. I have been waiting patiently for them to bloom. I did not realize they were fall bloomers.
-
Brugs are not so much fall blooming as they are waiting for the best weather for each flush of blooms. And those often happen in full moon times.

"Roberta Red" azalea, but it looks more pink to me... :grinnnn:
-
Don't you wish the colors were named more true? Pretty anyway. Thank you for sharing.
-
Tina, it actually upset me that the azaleas were pink. I wanted red and ended up with those. I let them live though... :giggle:
-
beautiful! dianna, next time i am up, i want some of that clematis!
-
You can get some, Jennifer. And some of the canna, too. I meant to post a pic of it, also. I think my canna is a different color from yours... :grinnnn:
-
yours is dianna. mine did not bloom this year, but i have hopes for next year. i'll try to remember to bring you some when i come. and did you want a banana? my cousin gave me a couple when i was in florida in april and they have done fairly well, all things considered.
