I am starting the chick next. on Charity Quilt 12.
-
Good going Tammy.
-
#11 Charity Quilt: Diamonds in a Square. The pictures didn't take. It is always something.
-
#11 Charity Quilt: Diamonds in a Square. It has been turned in so I can't do anything about not getting a picture. i'll just have to live with it.
#12 Charity Quilt: French Farm. I did the other sheep block. So now I just have the other rabbit block and the borders to do. It is progressing nicely.
-
Finished the rabbit block. It isn't the best one of the bunch. Now I've chosen the border quilt pattern and I'm practicing it in my sketchbook. I'm not sure about it but i'm going to try it.
-
#12 Charity Quilt: French Farm. Did one quarter of the border today. I'm glad I'm using thread the same color as the fabric so it doesn't show. But at least I'm getting it done.
-
Good going!
-
#12 Charity Quilt. French Farm. Finished the second side and am ready to start the 3rd butterfly. I didn't leave myself much room so I guess this one will be on the thin side. And this long side seems really thin. I guess that means it will go fast.
-
I hope it works out well, Tammy.
-
#12 Charity Quilt. French Farm. the third side did go quickly and I did manage to get the butterfly in there so all is good. I have one border, the label, binding, and washing to do on this one before it is complete. Oh, and get a picture this time.
-
#12 Charity Quilt. French Farm. I ran out of bobbin close to the end. And had trouble winding the new one. I started getting antsy so I'll wait to finish until after I've calmed down.
-
#12 Charity Quilt. French Farm. I finished the quilting. Now it is on to the binding. Well first I have to square it up.
-
#12 Charity Quilt. French Farm. The binding wasn't put together so i have ironed it flat. Seamed all the pieces together. And now it is ready to be folded and ironed the second time. One more step than intended but that is alright.
-
#12 charity quilt. French Farm. The label is on. So I'm getting there.
-
Good.
-
#12 Charity Quilt. I'm half way around the back side so I'm getting there. It's just that this constipation hurts and saps my strength.
-
#12 Charity Quilt. I finished binding the back now it is glueing and ironing the front and then top stitching it down. I think I'll do that tomorrow.
-
#12 Charity Quilt. I did the glueing and ironing. Had trouble with many little bobbles this time. But I'm soldiering on. I have the adjustable stitch in the ditch foot on and I'm almost ready to go. I hope I have enough thread of the right color.
-
I finished the sewing and it is in the washing machine. I've set up the camera and tripod so it is ready for it's photo shoot. i'm glad to be done with it. I learned a lot about boo-boo's.
#13 Charity Quilt. Yellow Yo-Yo is back on the cutting table and ready to go. I wish I could figure out a way to work on it on the go since it is all hand work but I can't seem to visualize it.

Those are gorgeous, Tammy. Lucky, warm people to get them.
-
I hope they enjoy them and find them useful.
-
#13 Charity Quilt: Yellow Yo-Yo Repair. Row one done again. I got turned around and couldn't figure out where I was working before so I just started again. So row one is finished and row two is started.
-
#13. I have marked several rows with the thought that I'll be able to find them and work on them when I am out and about. We'll see how that works.
-
As I think about this the truth is I could do this on machine. But everything is hand done so maybe that would be a bad idea? I'm doing the backing by machine that's for sure. No way would I attempt to hand sew a french seam or 10 or 20.
-
I got a few of the yo-yo's re-attached during the meeting. Then got asked if I was a seamstress. Which was followed by a request for a shower window curtain which of course is not a seamstresses job I don't think. Anyway I told him I was a beginner and didn't do anything without my teacher watching over my shoulder.
I might have been able to pull off a curtain but certainly not a plastic one.
-
Yes, sewing with plastic is certainly tricky.
-
#13 Charity Quilt: Yellow Yo-Yo. I can't decide whether I should line it or if i should fill in with little yo-yo's between the big yo-yo's so that it is solid. Lining it would be sturdier I think. I have time before I have to decide.
-
#13 Charity Quilt: Yellow Yo-Yo. I took it back to queen bee's and we decided to give Dahlia first crack at it and then Doris. They both like yo-yo's.
-
No wonder I got stuck I was on number 13, lol.
14 Charity Quilt: 60's Circles. I've pretty much figured out how I'm going to quilt this I just have to get it sandwiched.
15 Charity Quilt: Tropical Seascape. I started on this at Queen Bee's. It was a rough start but it should get better.
-
13 Charity Quilt: Yellow Yo-Yo Quilt. The safety pins are out of it and now it is ready to go to the business meeting.
-
Dahlia wasn't there I'm going to have to ferret out her number and give her a call. I probably should have done that anyway.
15 Charity Quilt: Tropical Seascape Quilt. I'm plugging along but at least I'm plugging.
-
15. Charity Quilt: Tropical Seascape Quilt. I did the coral, the fish, the sea. now I have the island, clouds, sky, and border to do. i'm getting there. I had to stop this morning because I couldn't figure out how to do air. I found a nice motif on the internet that I'm going to use.
-
15. Charity Quilt: Tropical Seascape Quilt. Finished the island with all those palm trees, yikes, and I got the clouds done. Now I'm working on the air. So I have that and the border to quilt and then it is bind and label. I'll do that at the queen bee's in mid December. We are all bringing pot luck and hand work so we don't have to pull out any of our gear. It should be nice.
-
It sounds lovely, Tammy.
-
one border done in meander.
-
15. charity quilt: Tropical Seascape Quilt. Got two more sides done so only one more to go then binding the front. The back and the label I'll do at Queen Bee's.
14. Charity Quilt: 60's Circles. I finally got this spray basted. Hopefully I'll manage to get it pinned tomorrow. That way I will have a clean cutting table for quilt 15's squaring off.
-
15. I finished the border and turned the quilt over and the back has a rats nest and several other problems. Grrrrrrrh.
-
I hate that when it happens, Tammy. Good luck with it.
-
14. Charity Quilt: 60's Circles. It is pinned so it is ready for quilting. I want a celtic design for this one so I'll have to practice FMQ'ing it first before I start on the quilt.
15. Charity Quilt: Tropical Seascape. This one is on the couch where I'll work on it. Good project for while the heat is out.
-
15. Charity Quilt: Tropical Seascape. This quilt is a bit of a stinker, or maybe that is me. Anyway I wanted to do the machine binding required to do the rest by hand at the Queen Bee's Pot Luck but it didn't work out that way. It was one thing after another and I finally took the 60's Circles to the Pot Luck instead. I'm glad I did I learned a lot from Marilyn about tracing a motif onto the quilt. Very useful information.
I'll be trying to get the binding on the quilt again probably today.
