i was going to say "first" baby blanket, but figured i'd just have one topic for them. this is the first one. both parents are clemson grads, which is why i chose those colors. that and their dr says this is a boy. the colors will work either way. every since charlie, i've not believed the drs when they say the baby is whatever. although i know that a boy is more reliable than a girl. for ultrasounds anyway. there are other ways that are fool proof.
so here it is. side one and side two. i like the argyle look of it.

there will be 7 or 8 sets of the stripes. i have 2 1/2 done. and less than a week to get it finished. if i'd crochet instead of typing, i'd get don faster! :rofl1: not happening :rofl1:
-
I really like the pattern to it. Great job!
-
That is pretty. Don't let Sheri see that red, white and blue thing going on. She'll steal it.
-
it really isn't red/white/blue. it is orange/purple/white. but the colors didn't photograph so well.
-
Oh, ok
-
Good job. I like it.
Crocheting and knitting are two things I just never could get the hang of. Wish I could have, I tried. I still have a baby blanket that was made for me when my daughter was born. That blanket (and my daughter) is 30 yrs. old now. You'd never know it to look at it. They make great keepsakes.
Good luck getting it finished on time.
-
Good job.
Stop typing! Get stitching!

Not a fan of Clemson, being from NC, but I do know what the colors are.
Looks good.

Very pretty Jenn. I like it a lot.

:kissies: thank all. i'm about 3/7 through it. i figured out i would need 7 sets of the rows to make it the right size. it is coming along nicely.
-
Nice blanket, Jennifer. It will be extra special for those Clemson lovers... :grinnnn:

That caught my eye too.
Looks to me like she loved it! And why wouldn't she? You did a wonderful job on it!
-
That turned out beautifully, Jenn.
I also like the bread art
-
Looks like the gift was a winner for sure. Now if their team won, they would be even happier... :giggle:
-
yes, it is a big piece of bread. sort of. burlap over a bread shaped frame, painted to look like white bread with a good brown crust. we make jokes about it all the time, how we need peanut butter and jelly, or butter, or jam to go on it.
thank you all for the compliments.
-
They turned out great, Jenn!! You did a wonderful job.
The bread is cute. Is it in a lunchroom or something?
-
That came out great Jenn. Your friend looks thrilled with it!
The bread is funny!
-
Beautiful! Turned out great and the mommy to be looked very happy with it.

no, the bread is actually on the wall, above the chairs in the waiting area of my office. i look right at it sitting at my desk. :ScratchHead: we actually have interior designers at the college who decided that it was appropriate "art" for the office. :nutz: go figure :laughmao:

That is a beautiful blanket. As for the bread it needs a piece of ham.
