I'm not sure what this is, but it's pretty, grows in my ditch that runs along side of the driveway

ragged mums from last year, i've got to transplant them, they aren't happy (as you can tell)
(https://www.southernspirithunters.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv322%2FJiffymouse%2F2014%2FIMG_3751.jpg&hash=58ee659fef07ed2694989010c017a5d0a6fd26c4) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Jiffymouse/media/2014/IMG_3751.jpg.html)

-
Your yellow flowers look like St John's wort. A pretty selection.
-
I can't get begonias to grow. Pretty.
-
tina, i was thinking st john's wort for the yellow flowers but couldn't remember for sure and didn't want to mislabel them.
-
Took some pictures this morning. Things don't look great because it got too hot too soon.

the fruit trees are full, even the apple and I thought it wouldn't bloom because the other one was destroyed by the tornado. Don't apple trees need at least 2 to pollinate?

not exactly sure what this is but I think I planted one little flower in this pot last year and it didn't do well. But this year it's been beautifully pink until it got into the 90's for weeks at a time.

day 3 had 3 blooms but i'm having trouble with the picture.
bloom 1 is faded now, and bloom 2 is almost gone. we'll see how it goes from here.
-
Pretty things.

They are pretty. We had some at the Circuit office when I worked over there. But hey sure don't last very long.

they don't barb. but if you have an established and healthy clump, they will bloom one right after the other for a long time... i'm hopeful.
-
Pretty. Is it a root or bulb or rhizome plant?
-
Bulb Sheri.
-
sheri, if you want one, i have one i can send you. it is small and won't bloom for a year or so, but it is easy to get out. they bloom best when they are crowded, and this one is not as crowded (and easier to get out) as the others.
-
ok thanks.

-
Looking for a like button.
-
So pretty.
Jen, haven't our lilies bloomed once this year already? I noticed today that mine are back up and blooming again.
-
sheri, they bloom when they want to, when it has been really hot, then cools a bit and is rainy. i don't think i'm explaining that well. but think about hurricane weather. cooler nights, lots of rain, following a real hot spell. so, i can't say if they bloomed before, but if they did, that would be why. it's a weather thing. either way, i think mine are prettier this year than last, i'm very happy with them!
-
the hurricane lilies tonight

Still looking for the like button.

sheri, either way, i think mine are prettier this year than last, i'm very happy with them!
I read that quickly and my crazy mind thought it said "either way, I think mine are prettier this year than yours"

and now i get to be embarrassed  because this isn't sweet flag (I've thought it was for the last 10 years :yikes: ) it is pickerel weed, although it isn't a weed. it is a very good, good for the environment, plant. oh well... live and learn!!!

what is this

i don't know but it's pretty!

I was looking up ideas on google but got nowhere.
-
I ask the lady at the farmers market to find out the name. Hope she does.
Jennifer, my hurricane lilies are blooming too. Wish they multiplied.
-

sheri, they do. kinda slow but they do. they multiply faster in areas that get more rain/water. i have them in places now that i did not put them there. i'm glad too!
-
Jenn, it's so cool that they don't have foliage. Just a stick and pretty color.
-
it is cool sheri. they do have foliage, but it comes in the spring, and looks like liriope. i actually have them planted in and around my monkey grass for that reason!
-
I've never noticed the foliage. Now I guess I'll have to wait.
-
it comes up in the spring. the flower and the foliage are never visible together.
here are a few of my "last blooms of summer" that i took today.
a hibiscus

a clearance plant from lowe's. looks like a cross between some kind of ginger or lily and bird of paradise. it is very pretty and colorful until the blooms start to fade. i don't know where i'm planting it - yet. 2 different shots of it as well.

there are confederate roses blooming all over, but i don't have one, so i don't have pictures to share. but i am thinking this time next year...
-
Pretty stuff. I have barely kept much alive this last couple of years.
-
well, all the hanging baskets (the petunias, the begonias, and i have a million bells that is hanging in there but doesn't have a bloom) are $1 discounts from various stores. as you can tell, the begonia is pretty happy. and i don't do anything to it. i will be splitting it before too long so i can share with kate.
i'm going to hope i get a better picture of the bloom on the one i don't know what is. i'd like to identify it. it really does remind me of a miniature bird of paradise. do they have such a thing???
-
There is a white BOP but I'm not sure about miniature. i'll have to search.
-
please do. this one is close to a bop, even in color (it fades as the bloom ages) but it so small!
today's blooms... all are mine but the red rose. that was at the mexican restaurant tonight.

So pretty. My knock out roses are blooming like crazy right now. This has been the strangest season.
-
mine are not knock outs, (as least i don't think so) but they sure are putting on a show. here is the coral colored one (or maybe it's salmon colored?) full bloom with a bud coming behind. i just wish the camera would do the color justice. it isn't pink, red, or orange. it really is coral or salmon.

I don't think they are knock outs. Knock outs don't have the full petal formation and they're a lot more flimsy.

not to mention, knock outs are much more expensive  all my roses were clearance from either walmart, lowe's, or home depot. knock outs rarely go on clearance.
-
didn't know that Jiffy. Years ago I had tea roses and was always spraying for black spot or some type of bug or mite. When we moved from that house I didn't make another rose garden and didn't have them again until a few years ago when I heard that knock out roses are pretty much problem free. So far they have been but I heard on Make it Grow that they are now having some sort of issue and the only remedy it is to dig them up if they get infected. So far so good with mine.
-
i don't think there is really any such thing as a trouble free plant, except maybe bind weed and briars.
-
speaking of bindweed, even though it is a morning glory plant, it was blooming today at 2 pm

pretty. the last one sort of looks like a vinca flower.
-
does the rose smell as good as it is pretty?
-
here's my knockout (https://www.southernspirithunters.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fpic20.picturetrail.com%2FVOL145%2F2152270%2F23823082%2F404218437.jpg&hash=8d11e95e0123a47e40556e18ca0d942de9097c5e)

So beautiful!
-
that is beautiful sheri. i like that. as for the smell of the rose, i think so, but it is by the dogs run so.... i really need to get it moved.
-
I cut the rose bushes back a few weeks ago and they have come out in full bloom. Our azaleas are blooming again, the butterfly bush, zinnias and cosmos are still blooming, it's like spring. I keep wanting to put out pansys but the spring and summer flowers still look great.
-
That sounds wonderful, Sheri.
-
This gardenia was almost dead when my mother gave it to me. Now it's gigantic.

I threw out a few packages of old seeds and they've been beautiful

-
good pictures! Pretty flowers.
-
I keep thinking I need to plant pansys but I hate to pull up stuff that looks so good. I keep waiting for the cold spell I keep hearing about.
-
looking good... but is the first one, the red one, a gardenia or a begonia?
-
it's a gardenia. Mother gave me that during the summer and it was almost dead. I didn't know if it would revive but now it's huge.
-
sheri, this is what the foliage looks like for the hurricane lilies.

I don't know what your mystery flower is. It is a pretty little thing.
-
I love million bells. Is your mystery flower some type of vinca?
