Title: Poulet a la Marengo
Post by: duh on Jan 16, 2016, 09:03:28 AM
I tried this last night.  I'm not really a sauce person but it was ok.  Didn't dirty up to many dishes.  But it didn't make it on my best recipe list.  I used the tubed tomato paste for the first time.  It is easy storage for the left over portion but it sure was expensive.

somehow I am not fond of chicken in tomato based sauce. I guess because the chicken flavors get lost in there.

I'm actually not to fond of any tomato sauce.  But I try different things from time to time.  I exchanged the liquor in the recipe with watered down balsamic vinegar.

Even if a recipe will cook off most of the alcohol I still won't use it.

good for you!  sometimes, you just have to know your limits!

and speaking of limits. i try very hard not to even have tomato products (except ketchup which i don't like) in the house, because they turn me polka dotted....

I am allergic to tomatoes, but eat them and products made from them all the time. I scratch like a flea bitten hound when I do.
