Title: Anyone study the WWII POWS?

My husbands dad was a prisoner of War in War War II . He's done alot of research if anyone has more information they would like to share or knows anyone that was in Stalag IXB let me know...Thanks

I had an uncle in-law that did some time somewhere over there. But not sure about exactly where. He was a Russian Jew who immigrated to America when he was a child with his family. He was captured and  when Allies were getting close they gassed him and  shot him in the head and shoved him in an open pit before the captors retreated. He was never the same. I am trying to remember his last name. I am not good at details.

oh how horrible for that to happen to a child...glad he survived it. It's horrible the things that happened to the soldier I couldn't imagine a child going through it.

I'm sorry. I wasn't very clear. He was raised here in the states from about the age of eight. He went into the service. He was an adult and in the American army when he was captured.
