I've had one for years and could never figure out what or how to use it. Recently I used it to modify a spool so it would fit tighter on the sewing machine. Then I went out and bought the cutters. Now I'm busy watching u-tube. I'm thinking of starting on broken egg shells since that is something I have plenty of.
Anyone use a dremel. Pictures welcome.

I have a couple. one corded and one cordless. I mostly only use them for cutting off things. My daughter uses them for more creative things.
Good luck on you eggshells.
-
I have my first broken egg shell waiting for it's turn with my craft time. Not at all sure about this. Thinking I want some of those gloves you can't cut.
-
Safety glasses and a dust mask are a definite thing too.
-
A small drill bit and a dremel is lots better for making precise cuts on dry wall than a jig saw.
-
I have the safety glasses. I'll have to get some dust masks.
I never would have thought of a dremel for dry wall but what a good idea for those awkward corners and outlets.
-
Great Idea Jim! I use mine to put holes in buckets and stuff like that.
-
I now have some hollow egg shells as well as I number of broken ones to work on. Now I just need to discover some practice designs. And of course how to get over my yellow chicken-ness.
-
Yes, that first step is the hardest.

bak-bak-ba-a-a-k!

I have a plan. I want to get a premade box at michaels and then make a grid inside that will fit all of my sewing feet correctly. I have a plastic one now but the sections don't accommodate the walking foot and some of the other accessories.
-
They make plastic ones with movable inserts so you can make them the sizes you need.
-
Yes I've seen those. For some reason the slots are never in the right place for me. Isn't that the way it goes? I'm excited and scared. The box and the piece of wood cost a little over 8 dollars so even if I mess up i won't be out a bunch of money.
-
I drew the lines on the piece of wood. But I was still to chicken to cut into it. I'm such a woose.
-
well you're going to laugh but that's ok. The box is getting done it just isn't using the dremel. Sharon and her husband came over and helped me. We used styrofoam to make spaces for the Janome feet. Then tucked ultra suede around the holes and over then inside so the styrofoam didn't get all over everything.
Now I'm going to the library to get little feet to use as a template for a font to spell out Janome. Wouldn't that be cute? Then I plan to stain the box and glue everything inside so it stays put. I can't believe a project is getting finished. It feels like I've been stuck forever.

Sounds cute!

The foot print idea did not work just to small. So I managed to get JANOME penciled on the box and found the versa-tool. Next is to find the extension cord. I took some stuff out to the shed and planned to return with the extension cord. But I forgot it and it is too cold for another trip, brrrrrh. Progress!
