It appears that Photobucket is down for maintenance. Most of our board graphics and avatars are rendered from there so that is why they are not showing up. They should be back up soon.

I know this is an old topic but thought I would still post it here.
I got an email today from Photobucket about the graphics that are rendered from their website. I guess they are going to start blocking them unless I pay $399 a year. Well, I;m not doing that so if you start seeing the embedded photos and graphics disappear, that is what has happened.

I haven't check my PB yet but I heard from someone else that it is no longer free.

As you probably saw on the board index, Photobucket is stepping up the pressure to pay for linking the graphics. I'll start today moving them to another service. In the meantime we will just deal with the substitutes they have put up there.
I'm not sure how many of the avatars that we are using here are on Photobucket. I have set the board where you can upload an avatar to the server so we will need to move those over as well.

I believe I got all the board graphics replaced. If you find any others let me know.

Thanks Barb. I just couldn't stand those big blocks that said " Upgrade to 3rd party hosting". There probably are still some out there but they will just have to be that way. I moved everything to Flickr.

I agree. and I didn't like those blocks either. Not to mention big companies like that trying to bully the small sites like this one.

They sure were. Be sure and let me know if you see others around the board that need to be fixed. I'm not going to re-do all the posts but did replace the photos in the Shooting Range topic.

Update - Looks like they tagged Dianna's account now. Some of the board graphics were hosted from one of her accounts as well as most of the avatars. I'll work on getting those moved tonight.

I got my flickr account open, I just need to figure out how to use it. when I do, I'll put all my pictures there and close photobucket. this is ridiculous.

I did the same thing. I had to experiment with the links to figure out which one to use but I will eventually move all mine there as well.

I know this is an old topic but I thought it would fit here. I finally got all of the graphics and avatars that Dianna had linked to replaced with ones that are not on PhotoBucket. Let me know if you see any more fuzzy avatars or graphics. I wasn't able to find Dianna's so I'll let her fix that one or post a new one. Also couldn't find the graphic we had on the Family Photos and Activities board. Anyone have a suggestion for that, let me know.

Yeah, I couldn't find that one in the 1000s of pics that Dianna had on her PB account. Will have to come up with another one for that.

Blurred avatars for example in this topic (http://www.southernspirithunters.com/smf/index.php/topic,3303.0.html), members haven't logged in for quite sometime though.

Yeah, I'm not wasting my time on members that have not logged in for a year. If they ever come back I'll fix the avatar, if not, oh well.
