My PM thingy is broken...

When I get a new PM the little window pops up and tells me " you have a new PM, do you want to open it in a new window" I click OK and it doesn't open in a new window. :unsure: My computer sometimes closes a window when i hit refresh or post, in various sites, so maybe its something in my machine?

Make sure you are allowing popups from Southern Spirit Hunters.  Is this happening in IE or FireFox?  Have you recently updated either?  Does it just shut down the window without any error?

This sounds like a machine problem.  How old is the computer?  Memory can cause strange things to happen as well as power supplies.

I would need some additional information in order to troubleshoot the problem.  Nothing wrong on this end as far as I can tell.

OK, try shutting down all your windows except one and see if you can receive a PM.  I know most of use take advantage of the windowing capability of windows but that takes memory.  If there is a memory problem you may be able to see where the threshold is, 2 windows, 3, etc.

Memory problems are hard to isolate unless you have a SIMM or DIMM to swap out and see what happens.  It's worse than an intermittent problem in a car.   :dunno:

Yup. I received another pm. No line that says 'pop up blocker' so I have pop ups ok from ssh. I got the little 'do you want to open it in a new window ?' clicked yes again and still had to open it myself.
