My house
« on: Apr 30, 2008, 12:01:43 PM »
Well I guess its good to start with every house that I have lived in always had paranormal activity going on, so it's safe to say that if I moved into a house and it was normal I would feel lonely.  :waiting:

Now about my new place! We just moved into this house a year ago and it's plane to see it's a real fixer upper. It was built in 1900, still has the orginal plank ceilings and walls, 5 fireplaces with the old wooden framed in fronts. While I was coming down here to work, (trying to make it liveable) I realized I wasn"t alone. I did an EVP and came up with a mans voice and some of children playing. I have seen shadow people and also a lady dressed in victorian style pass through the diningroom. At times I hear whispers and also being touched.

Did some history on the place and found that the house was built on Catawba land, also the battle on Kings Mt. also happened on this land. The property was a farm used for growing cotton. The house has been sold many times but never kept very long.

As far as ghost hunting I had a group 4 years ago and we investigated alot of places in North and South Carolina. Right now we are at a stand still because of working on this house.

We did get alot of pictures of orbs on our hunts, some with faces of people and animals. I have always been interested in the paranormal and the spirit world. In my mothers family most of the females were sensitives, its has been passed down to my one daughter and also myself. Don't know if its a good or bad thing at times  :dunno:

If anyone has any questions or just wants to talk about the paranormal I'm here and would love to chat or post.

And thank you everyone for the warm welcome, i'm feeling at home already.  :thx:

Sounds like you have had some awesome experiences, apachedove! :grinnnn: Are you the only one that has stayed in the house for any length of time? I bet the house is beautiful with the plank ceilings and floors. :)

Sounds like the land and home has a lot of history behind it. Did you investigate before you moved in or after?

The spirits may be attracted to you, I think. With you being sensitive, they may feel safe to be around you knowing that you wouldn't try to harm them. I don't think I would want them touching me, though, because they would make me hurt myself...

Very interesting post and I will be looking forward to reading about your other experiences. We are so happy that you joined and are sharing your experiences with us. :grinnnn:

The strange thing about the house is 5 years ago we came to look at the place, it had set empty for an unknown amount of time. We had the chance to take it but after walking around inside for about 20 minutes I said no to much work. At the time my youngest son was still alive and with all his medical problems it would not have been good for him because of it being so drafty. But I did notice that the place had a very quiet empty feeling to it. And to be truthful it gave me a very strange feeling.

Over the last couple of years I was always having dreams about the house, dreaming of living here and fixing it up. I just passed it off as thinking what all I could do to the place. The past 4 years there was a family living here but they didn't do anything to the place, and after 9 kids they moved. So here I am. Never thought about checking the history, all I was told it was known as the Alexander place.

I would come down and stay 3 days during the week to work and clean. The very first night while I was alone I heard foot steps in the one bedroom upstairs. When I got ready to go back home the next night I put a tape recorder in the bedroom, thats when I got the EVP with the voices, loud banging and foot steps.

We took a picture of the outside of the house and in the upstairs bedroom window you can see the figure of an older man standing there looking out. As far as being scared they don't bother me, I feel they are just lonely and that they approve of the house being fixed up. So I guess I just added on to my family  :help: :Glee:

I am half apache and half german, which I say not a good combination, bad tempers  :smack:
