What's for dinner 12...
« on: Feb 09, 2009, 04:44:53 PM »
Tonight I am fixing Flat Iron Steak Sandwich but with Sirloin steak instead of flat-iron.  It's going to feature Fresh Mozzarella, spinach leaves, and lovely avocado slices.   :542:

Honey BBQ sticky wings, Triss. I'm hoping that means sweet because I am not fond of hot spicy foods any more.

I'm actually going to cook for myself tonight. Don't normally bother, but haven't any leftovers. lol.  Going to have a pan fried pork chop, cole slaw and "super rice" (instant rice/cream of mushroom soup)... looking forward to it.
Dear Lord, On this day, please wrap your arm around my shoulder and keep your hand over my mouth.  Amen

We had honey barbecued wings with green beans and pasta salad. The pasta salad was the Classic kind. None of us liked it. Will be sticking to the Ranch Bacon next time... :grinnnn:

Yum Tina.  And yours too Barb.

Do you make your own pasta salad Dianna or is it the packaged one that is bacon ranch with shell pasta.  I love that mix.

A flat-iron steak is a steak cut from the top of the chuck blade (??) I think.  I guess it has a hole in the center of it where they cut out the tendon that runs through it.  It is also very thin.  I haven't actually had one but I needed to know what it was so I knew what to substitute for it.  It is supposed to be a very good cut of meat though.

I use the package mix, Triss, but I am sure I could figure out how to do it to make it taste like I want.:grinnnn: I love the bacon/ranch... :542:

Tonight we are going to have chicken casserole and some peas from the garden (canned)... :licklips:

I am going to have that package mix tonight Dianna, I could not get it out of my head since you mentioned it.  It will go very well with the fried chicken I am planning and the kids can have mac n' cheese.

Tonight I made boneless pork chops baked in mushroom soup, augratin potatoes or rice and green beans.  For dessert we had Schwans Smores.  They were really good but I for one should have waited a couple of hours before eating dessert.

I tossed a pork roast in the crock pot this morning so we had pulled pork sandwiches for dinner with twice baked potatoes.

Dinner tonight is Papa Murphy's that we're taking to my parents house.  Hopefully I will trip and fall and break my leg and be unable to attend.  *If only I were so lucky*

Tonight is leftovers. I have to get my fridge cleaned out for some cooking for the coming week. I am liking the precooking on weekends right now. I can kind of vegitate on the weeknights that way as most things are pre-prepared.

Tonight is a leftover combination.  I saved the mushroom soup that I cooked the pork chops in and added the leftover fried chicken to that in the crock pot.  I will be making some pasta to go with that and corn.

Canned beef stew and rice was on the menu for tonight's supper. I was just too tired to cook...

Last night was roasted ham, scalloped potatoes, green salad, and I made an angel food cake and topped it with my very own strawberries from the freezer.

We also ate the last bit of bittersweet chocolate mousse left from valentines day.  :542: Now, that is some dangerous stuff.  :laughmao:

Sounds good Sarah.  I love mousse.  Need to make some soon.  Share that recipe, I have never made it with bittersweet chocolate.

Tonight we had chicken cacciatore, the poor mans version with chicken patties and ragu.  Kids loved it!

Here ya go, Triss.

I froze it instead of the fridge. Turned out great, I made it the 13th, served it the 14th, and was still great yesterday.  :grinnnn:
