Did I lose them?
« on: Jan 17, 2010, 10:54:01 AM »
My big bunch of bronze mums on the corner of the house are brown all the way to the ground.  That means they are dead right?  And the little puple and yellow clumps are completely gone above ground that means I lost them too doesn't it.

It just was not a good year for me last year.

Cut them back to the ground and see what happens, Tammy. They may just make a reappearance from the roots.

Mine always died back to the ground and grew once it got warm.

Mine too. Don't give up on them quite yet.

I think this bitter cold made them die back sooner than they normally do.  They'll come back in the fall.  Cut them back and cover with leaves or mulch.

I'll definitely get out there tomorrow and get that done if it isn't raining.  Thanks for telling me.  I was thinking I lost the whole thing.

I noticed today out where my step dad is putting up the greenhouse that the daffodils are coming up.  How is it possible with all this cold?

I've gotten all my mums cut back now. I see green, too. I am so hoping that the really cold weather is gone from here now... :grinnnn:
