I got a brecks yesterday.  I wasn't impressed.  it seemed like the selection was way down.

We got our Four Seasons Nursery catalog yesterday. I love dreaming about all of those plants and flowers...

I've never heard of that nursery Dianna.

I received my Brecks and Spring Hill Catalogs this week.  It's a sale that ends in early Febuary but I just can't get excited about buying plants this early.  Although I did splurge at Roses and got 3 Climbing Peace Roses.  They are in the window in the master bedroom until the ground can be worked.  I hope they survive.

I have gotten loads of catalogs already. But I am also not enthusiastic yet. Your roses should be just fine in your window until spring planting, Tammy.

I just received a Brecks and a Four Seasons catalog.  The brecks isn't really intriguing me but the four seasons has inexpensive dwarf fruit and standard nut trees.  Both things that are on my list for future years.  Now the question is do I put off the veggie garden again and start clearing space for trees instead?  I never know whether I should stick to my list or take advantage of what look like good deals.  Someone help?

Can you get the space cleared for the trees in time to plant?

Yes if I get out there everyday for a week I should be able to clear it.  And it's the perfect time because of the lack of leaves.  The cost would be 52.00 for 6 trees.  A dwarf red delicious apple, a yellow delicious apple, a dwarf red haven peach self polinating, a hall's hardy almond, and 2 dwarf american hazelnuts.  that's alittle over 8 bucks per tree including the shipping.  i don't think I'll see a better deal.

Then I'd say plant the fruit trees.

Well with the credit card problem the 52.00 just disappeared out of the budget.  Buy the time I can make it up it will be to late.  Grrrrrrh.  I hate my life sometimes.

Spring Hill Nursery just sent me a very expensive catalog.  Like 3 times the price of last year.  It's suppose to be the deal of a life time.  They have elected me Customer of the Year.  So I get to buy one and get the next one for a penny.  But the price for the first one is astronomical.  This must come under the heading of "...a sucker born every minute."  The roses that were 3.50 last year are 9.99 this year.  And the list just goes on and on and on.  I'm really disappointed with that kind of advertising.
