Johnny fixed the stairs so that unless you know it happened you probably won't notice the chunks missing. He sanded a little, stained, then polyed. The wall however is another story. I part is going to have to have a little sheet rock applied and then I guess the whole wall will have to be painted again because it's all the way down the stairs. I didn't notice the pieces ricocheting all over the place but they must have.

Thanks for feeling sorry for me. I'm over it now and they look good. If you didn't know to look you wouldn't see the damage. We probably needed that wall painted again anyway.

Now Mr. Rape is replacing door jams. We've taken some doors down and had them stripped of years of paint, some lead paint too, purple, yellow, brown, tan and lots of white. The doors are really pretty doors. The man who stripped them told us they are probably 80 years old and would cost at least $700.00 a piece to make them now. We're going to poly them and leave them natural.

Glad that the steps are fixed, thats incredible that the plate caused so much damage.

So far so good with Mr. Rape. He's slow and I mean REAL slow. I've never seen anyone work so slow and he gave us a flat price. He's not working by the hour.

It sounds like he is just working for fill in money and not to pay the rent. He can take your cash and and any other that he earns and send you post cards from the Carribbean cruise next year.

I wish you guys could see the door jams. I didn't realize how bad they looked until we got new ones. Since this is an old house he had to make them because nowadays prefabbed jams and thinner and he said the wood is rinky dink. They look like they go with the house except they aren't covered with years of different colors of paint. Purple was one of the colors. Fun people lived here.

Johnny and I were just talking and realized Mr. Rape has been here 6 months July 19th. I love him. What I call slow Johnny calls craftsmanship and he does beautiful work. He has a key to the house and comes and goes as he wants. He accepts UPS packages and pays ToDeTa no attention. He was here this morning while Johnny was still here and when Johnny went to breakfast at Hill Top Mr. Rape did too. He invited us to come listen to blue grass music last night and we went. He's become a friend. I love him and our house is looking wonderful.
