Favorite Gardening Tools
« on: Mar 07, 2010, 11:05:00 AM »
I don't know about y'all, but my favorite gardening tool is not a shovel. It is a hand cultivator tool.

Recently we went to the AFB to get my new military ID card and stopped in the BX to check out some prices on things. While there, I had to go out to the Garden Center. I found a neat little gadget that will probably become my second favorite tool. It looks like a Swiss Army knife plus. :rofl1: I'm not sure what to call it...

What do y'all think about this little gadget? It all folds down to fit into its' handy dandy carrying case that attaches to a belt...

What is/are your favorite gardening tool(s)?

I like it. I'm thinking I would break that too easily. I would attempt to use it on something too large for it instead of running back for a bigger tool. I know from experience.

I am going to try to remember not to be too lazy to go after the proper tool, Tina. I have been known to break tools by not using one that fits the job, too... :giggle:

Yes, I will agree, bypass pruners and cultivators take top prizes. But I run into new temporary favorites depending on what I am working on.

Sarah, you are going to want to get better about that soon. Adrian is a growing curious kid.

Cute new tool Dianna... I like the first one as well.  I would use that a lot.  My favorite tool is my kiddos and a wagon... they haul my weeds away for me.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

Kids and wagons are good, Triss. And a renewable resourse, too
Oh, I will have to say I think my all time fav is my golf carts. They haul things away and tools to places. I can do so much more with them than I was able to before I got my first. It simplified my life tremendously and allowed me to work for others further afield. So I earned money  with it as well.

I haul a big wagon around with the lawn mower.  Makes my life so much easier.

I don't know how I forgot about this. I just used it outside while planting the new bushes. :grinnnn: Sure saves my back and knees when I can just roll along and lean over...

I could use one of those Dianna? Would it hold my weight? Was it very expensive? Does it have storage inside?

Yes, mosquito repellant is a must here, especially with how my property puddles.

Lawn Buddy

Seems like mine came from Lowe's or Home Depot, Barb, but didn't find it doing a search of their websites. This one is like the one I have. I love mine. It is very sturdy. It does have some storage inside. I carry my little hand tools around in the tray that lifts out, too. It has clips to carry longer tools on the side. I think you would like it if you had one... :grinnnn:
