MY SIL has been diagnosed with menieres and was put on a salt (no more than 1000 mg's a day) and caffiene restricted diet.  Her doctor said that surgery wouldn't be beneficial for her.

That being said, I'm not sure what she said it was.  I that it had a "gr" sound in it but my googling is also turning up nothing.  I'll have to ask again. . .

I will have to ask my mom about that one.  I just do not recall her having any diet restrictions.  Is she getting good help to battle the pain and vertigo?  Medication did not used to be available that helped here in the states causing many people to cross borders to find medication that worked.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

It is on the list of diseases requiring low sodium or no sodium when it is severe. Check here under treatment

Clay my favorite subject lol.

This is the second place I've had it and year 3 I've got soft soil where I've been working it.  And of course it's taken so long because I'm working without money.  And on slopes so I have to create errosion breaks.

50% compost and 50% clay will give you a wonderful soil soft rich good smelling soil.  Great for tomatoes and peppers.

spiders huh?  That would be a problem for me too.  I have big fat spiders out in the yard and I'm very glad that I wear thick garden gloves or I'd never be able to weed.

I want someone to make me salsa - not to spicey.  I love salsa but am too lazy to make it.  Maybe I can find a friend who needs veges and trade out the making of salsa for the veges.

Triss, she is currently getting severe panic attacks and horrible bouts of dizziness.  Some days she can't even crawl to the bathroom but instead kinda rolls and caterpillar-crawls to it or if her hubby is home, he'll drag her in.  The doctors were not being super helpful for her anymore - and it doesn't help that she lives 3 hours from them and can only make it up every 2 weeks 'cause that is when her husband has off.  She recently switched Doc's and the first thing he said was salt and caffiene restrictions, which she says has helped.  They are working out medications.

I don't know entirely what is up with the piano teacher's husband.   He was just diagnosed last week.  THe past year has been very rough on him and it's taken a toll on his work: bull semen.  (I just had to throw that out there 'cause it's a hilarious profession-I'll never forget the first time I said, "whats in the giant metal canister on the porch?" and the old sweet piano teacher said, "Bull semen, it's for Gary.")

I'm thinking I would cover that truck full of manure with a tarp and stick a fogger under it to get rid of most of those spiders. I like spiders in my yard much better than I like their prey. But moving manure is the stuff of nightmares.

Hard to kill spiders unless the fogger is specifically for them.  Usually they just move off when they run out of prey.

Was it Jessica telling me about rhubarb a while back?  I can't seem to find the day I was asking about rhubarb.

So I didn't make that conversation up.  I can't find it though.  I think it was Jessica who said they ate it like celery straight from the garden.

Yes, Sheri, I do eat it plain from the garden.  I put a little salt on it.  It is bitter though.  Not everybody likes it that way.  But, I do make things with it too.  My parents have a lot of it but my mom isn't willing to give any of it up.  She uses it a lot.  I need to get my own plants.

Rhubarb is easier to grow in the colder climates.  I haven't had any luck growing it down here.

I grow walking onions, scallions, leeks and shallots. This year I'm also adding yellow, red and white onions...

All in all, they are pretty carefree. Nothing really bugs them, and they are super easy to tuck in between other plants.

I really haven't grown onions but I have grown garlic. Both to eat and as a deterrent to underground and above ground critters. They are easy to do.

Penny, how big of a garden do you have?  You have a large variety of plants!

I dont actually grow anything in the ground, believe it or not, i had Brad build me raised planter boxes, and everything fits into those, the biggest one is 40 feet long, by 3 1/2 high, by 4 feet wide, and then divided into 4 boxes, and i have a smaller one, about half the size.
Everything else fits into pots and planter boxes.
