Jim, what do you do with all that corn?

We freeze some and give the rest away.  I'll let you know when it's ready and you can come and get all you want (if the deer don't get it all).

After the little bit of rain we got my stuff, except the peas is looking good.  Only a few of them have come up.  One of Johnny's customers told him his peas are 8 feet tall now.  Wonder what I did wrong.

This is the info I got Tammy.  Maybe it's wrong.  I did have organic stuff in the area though.  Maybe too much.

"Do not add nitrogen to the soil before planting (or after) - peas extract nitrogen from the air sufficient for the needs. An over-rich soil will cause lots of leafy growth, but a reduced cop of peas"

That's what I thought.  If his are 8 feet maybe he had an excess of nitrogen?

Corn takes so much room.  We grew it one or two years and decided we don't eat enough of it to mess with it.

Put out a few more tomatoes last night.

I may just do corn and sunflowers in the big veggie garden. That darn blight stays forever it seems.

I have 2 small garden area and for some reason this year I've run out of room.  I changed the stuff around because I've been planting the same stuff in the same area for several  years and wanted to rotate but I don't have the room to do what I want this way since certain things shouldn't be planted by other things and so on.

Can you make them bigger Sheri, or add a few new gardens somewhere close by?

We do  have more room but I'm in no shape this year to add on.

I had read on one site that cukes and tomatoes shouldn't be planted together but I just checked another site that says it's ok.  I don't want to bring the squash bug to the tomatoes but it would be nice if I can put a row of cukes with the tomatoes.

Those are both really heavy feeders so plan on adding a lot of compost to the soil for a good crop.

Johnny called me and said the hail didn't damage anything from what he can tell.  I'm going to check it out when I get home today.  Couldn't find borage seeds or plants yesterday but I didn't look at Lowe's.
