I saw this shrub while walking the gardens at the Village Green...

Mike had said it looked like bottlebrush, but I was associating bottlebrush with the one I had, and the ones I saw in Hawaii...

The red is NOT hardy...even in zone 8...I learned the hard way.  :(

I have heard there is another type of red that is, though...

Yes, I have red bottle brush blooming here. Big ones and I've planted small ones the last couple of years. I am on the cusp of zone 8 with my elevation, Sarah.
I figured if I googled up a white one something similar to your pic would show up.

I think I'm more high end of zone 7, honestly...I loose a lot of plants rated zone 8.  :thpullhairout:

Mine look a little like this and the leaves have a lemon scent. They are lemon bottle brush, Callistemon pallidus, zone 9-11
