We got up past 70 today.  A cool breeze tonight cooled it off.  Best of all I saw blue skies and the sun.

We got 4" of rain through the night last night.  The sun is shining now but they are talking more thunderstorms throughout the day.

Yuck, Dianna!

I don't know what the heat index was here yesterday but the temp was 93 at 6 pm.  Tristen got a little overheated at ball practice.  I had him sit down and drink lots of water.  They have a hose nearby so I took him over there and ran it over his head.

Glad there was a hose handy, Jessica. :grinnnn: My heat episode scared the tar out of me. I didn't even think about the hose or the pool and they were a whole lot closer than crawling up the steps to get in the house... ::)

Yes, it is scary.  I was just glad that he came over to me and said that he wasn't feeling well before it got too bad.  I ran to the store at the end of practice and got ice cream treats for all of the kids and adults.  I figured they deserved it after playing out in the hot weather.

Heat stroke is scary. And you don't always, or rarely ever, think in straight lines or realize how close you are to dead. The pool and the hose is not first on your mind. I have been there and don't want to be again. I have also been much more sensitive to heat since then and that was early 80's.

We had thunderstorm throughout the hottest part of the day. Which kept it from being the hottest part of the day. Funny that Bay County was the ONLY place in most of NW FL that had any storms today.   :rolleyes1:

It is currently at 7:30 p.m., 83 with a heating index of 94. Humidity is 84% - sticky.

OMG, I'm dying. Picked the wrong time of day to do grocery shopping. Car a/c doesn't help. You still gotta unload the car.  It's currently 97° with a heat index of 118°.   :hot: :hot:

It is a little after 10 am here. It has climbed from 58* early this morning up to 69* and the humidity is 62% and sinking. We have had the most wonderful June ever. July, August and September could be just like this and I will be the happiest camper ever. I want to thank whomever is in charge of taking away my heat.
