Have you noticed that for the gardener that likes yellows, oranges, and reds I have a great deal of the pink and purple colors?  lol.

Very pretty, Jenn.
I love mostly reds, yellows and orange too with as much true blue as possible. But in my search for blue I ended up with a lot of purple. And I have pink touches here and there. Purple and pink are two of my least favorite colors.

I'm right there with you.  And your right the blues and purples often look very similar to me also.

I don't have any daylilies but I'm thinking about adding some if I can get these cages made and run off the rabbits.

Does anyone use these sonic pest repellant machines?

I have wondered if those were useful at all, too. They have been on the market for so many years but I have not known many who used them.
I used to help with rental houses and one old man moved out of one. I was helping clean up the dregs. He had moved roaches in with him and had a couple of those plug in electronic roach repellers. When I went to unplug them a few roaches crawled out of the machine. Ick! I figured so much for those.
We have ground squirrels here that will form large colonies and undermine your home foundation with out control of some kind. A neighbor purchased a couple of battery operated sonic mole/gopher repellent things. They actually worked for a while until the ground squirrels got used to it or something and moved back. I guess those need to be moved around to mess with their little minds.
That is as close as I can get to product reviews.

Tammy, don't you have a cat?  I've heard cat litter sprinkled around the garden will keep rabbits out.

As far as colors of flowers, I like different flowers in different colors.  Like orange isn't one of my favorite colors but I think orange zinnias are beautiful.

I don't really have a favorite color of flower.  I like them all.

I just cut some purple cone flowers and black eyed susans for a vase.  They all look good.

Well that pretty much takes care of that idea.  No 25 dollar machines for me.  I guess it's back to caging my bulbs.

The cat goes outside most of the time.  The rabbits don't seem to mind at all.  So I'm not to sure that works very well.

My hydrangea's are blooming.  I did not get pink or blue, but a beautiful shade of purple.

Ammonium sulfate will blue up those pretty things next year, Triss. But they are mighty pretty as they are too.

They are stunning but I really do want blue ones.  I have a baby that I will be moving into the new garden and perhaps that one can be blue.

tina is right about adding to it this year to get blue next year.  that is stunning though, and a very hard color to get actually.  that is nearly neutral soil.  i want a hydrangea so bad.  but i've killed 2 :razberry: here, but had a beautiful one in fl.  go figure.

This is my first one.  No one has done anything with the yard in ages so I am sure it has not seen any additives at all for a long time.  I think I will keep the one there as it is and mess with the ones I transplant.  I am going to try both ground layering and rooting some cuttings.

That is pretty Triss.  I've tried and tried to get a pink one and can't do it.  My mother has blue and pink on the same shrub.  Mine are all blue no matter how much I amend the soil.  I think the oak trees have something to do with it.

I've decided to not even try for the pink anymore.  Why fight nature.

the first is another canna blooming.

the other, some of you might remember mom54 from another site, she died a couple years ago.  she gave me these spider lilies.  i've had them almost 6 years.  this is the first time they have bloomed.  i love them.
