All I know is my daddy said do not go into the barn on Christmas eve, cause the cows talk.
One man did . The cows were talking that their master was going to die.
He did .

So did every one who ate carrots..

Are you going to wintersow anything?  Remember you told me about making a cold frame with my windows?  I've never done it.

I use a good soil, and place them outside on one of the raised flower beds, and they've always done well, which amazes me, considering some of our temperatures we get up here.

I always pre soak my peat pots, if i'm using any, and make sure to drill some holes into the bottom of the milk jug, pop bottle, whatever you are using for drainage, and ventalation.

I bury them down in the snow, and they stay put.

Or another suggestion is to place small rocks in the bottom of the containers, and that would help too, Barb.

Wind is an absolute seedling killer. Where I live you cannot do seeding outdoors at certain times of year without a a greenhouse strong enough to withstand wind.
I have taken those 2 liter bottles and cut off the tops, driven a stake into the ground down through the middle of it, filled and planted and replaced the top over the stake. That kept my 'mini greenhouse' in place. But the wind still dried out the seedlings even with damp soil and all of the protection of the plastic.
It is a game to play with Mother Nature to get things to grow sometimes.

You can water them if they need it, but usually the condensation built up inside, does the trick.

You just need to make sure that you seal up the container really good again, if you do decide to hand water, and i would only spritz them if you had too.

Well the magnolias are in the refrigerator.  It's not exactly 39 degrees but it's as close as I'm likely to get lol.  The lilies are outside since the days are high sixties low 70's which is still 5 degrees hotter than the best temperatures.  But I always have to rush things.  I have no self discipline.
