Here are a couple of other blooms.

I know you can barely see the primrose but it is there.

Can you believe the number of blooms on that miniature rose?

And another grouping of irises.

chicken snake?  black snake?  nice looking snake what ever it is.  it is healthy and probably eating lots of critters that would be pests for you otherwise.

sheri, i want to be you when i grow up.  to cut flowers and bring them in the house and have a beautiful house and garden.

my bachelor button hasn't even put up a stock yet.  Maybe I should go out there and talk to it.  Great pictures.  I love peonies.

If I had seen it and not fainted, I would have left a trail behind myself on the way back inside... :giggle:

Yes, the flowers are beautiful. After I saw the snake pic, I forgot to comment on how pretty they are... :o

it's just a black snake you chicken hearted people.  I know he eats my baby birds but he also eats my mice and rats - yuck.  I like him.   He's not afraid of me either.  He hangs out in the garden when I'm working there and we just look at each other once in a while.  He doesn't even run from my cat.  I thought snakes were afraid of cats.  That bothers me a little bit.

Peonies just don't last long enough to suit me.  I've got two plants and that's all I'm planting of them.  Martha Stewart has a whole field but for me it's not worth it since they're here today and gone tomorrow.

Yes, I love a long blooming season too.
Like cats and dogs, snakes and cats can get along and even be pretty friendly. My dog is terrified of snakes and probably why he has survived here for 11 years.

I've wonder if Mr. Snake would hurt ToDeTa since she's so small and has no fear.  I can imagine her running up to him barking like the lunatic she is.  One time one of my used to be father in laws dogs got bitten by a snake and his head got very swollen but he got over it and survived just fine.  It was a bigger than ToDeTa dog though.
