I am thinking it looks like the spider Paul showed me in Tennessee in the cane patch... :SmileyFear:

sheri, bindweed is a "native" form of morning glory, and it does what the name says.  it binds up things, almost as bad as kudzu, but doesn't give the ground stability that kudzu gives.  and while the vine is thing (thinner than my crochet yarn) you can't break it with your hands.  it is WAY strong.

it is too thin in my opinion.  i will take a good picture tomorrow with something for reference.  i was thinking it would make good tiny baskets though!  i just don't know how it would dry.  i can't remember how brittle it is.

Jiffy, if you read back I said I used to have hurricane lillies that you sent me.  I didn't know what had happened to them.  A lump came up outside our dining room window under the pine needles.  I kept watching it from the window and kept thinking we had a gopher til one day I couldn't stand it anymore and went outside.  What I found was this.

Jesus, the yard guy, had covered everything up with landscape fabric before putting out the pine needles.  It smothered out weeds but couldn't keep these flowers from blooming and growing.  I had to cut the landscape fabric away to get to them.  So I cut one and brought it inside.
