The lovely days have gone for now. I've been in the garden and it's already blazing hot and humid. The weatherman says it's 86° but I don't believe him.

The humidity can make it FEEL much hotter. We were 92 today but with heat index, the 'feels like' temp was 102.

with heat index, it hit 106 today before the rains started around 2. Then it rained all day. just stopped about an hour ago. Tomorrow promises more of the same. Actually, more of the same for the foreseeable future.

We've not had any rain for over 2 weeks. My yard is starting to turn brown and the river birch trees have dropped over 50% of their leaves. Up until last weekend, I've been mowing every week. I may get away with not mowing until this Sunday which will be two weeks. Come on fall!

We've had rain every day for weeks, some more than others. Same for foreseeable future. Luckily today it only rained about an hour but the cloud cover kept the temps down so not so darned hot.

Rain, rain, go away....We are getting doused with rain off the feeder bands off that storm that is passing to the south of us. It is supposed to make landfall somewhere LA/MS/AL tonight, then peter out. Its just a small one but lots of rain. Thankfully its not stalling and its going right on through.

We got just a touch of rain yesterday. It wasn't enough to register on the rain gauge but 8 miles away in Summerton, they had a flood. I drove through it on my way home from work. At times it was coming down so hard I had to almost stop. The fields on both sides of the road were flooded. When I got home, the sun was shining and it was barely sprinkling.

And now to complain of the heat. lol. Heat index today was 107 while I was sitting in my car waiting on Jason at the school. The a/c in the car doesn't work worth a crap at idle (for 30 min)
