Hurricane Ian
« on: Sep 28, 2022, 09:14:49 AM »

This latest track looks like we will get some of residual rain and wind from Ian.  With this track we end up on the worse side of the storm.  Thankfully it is starting to weaken by the time it gets here.

Yeah, last I heard (about 4 pm) they are predicting landfall between Chatham and Beaufort counties. Pretty much in my back yard. I'm hoping it goes out to sea instead.

It went in south of my siblings. I'm glad, it was originaly predicted to go in at Tamp which is where they are. Still feel for those it hit. I know all too well the effects of a cat 4/5 storm. I'm praying for them as well as all those on the eastern side of the states that it is taking aim at. Y'all be safe.

Looks like the track for us has changed a bit from yesterday.  Watching some of the video from Naples yesterday looked as bad as I have seen.  Lots of prayers going up.

Yes, the track changed enough that we have a near miss here. Stay safe!

Yep and I hope it keeps moving East.  The more East, the better it is for us too.

I closed the plant tomorrow so we wouldn't have people trying to drive to work in the wind and rain.  We will re-open on Monday.  I've got a couple of maintenance guys that will be checking on the plant every 4 hours tomorrow and reporting if we have any damage.

I'm home for the duration.  Dianna is supposed to work tomorrow evening at the VFW.  If we lose power, that will be cancelled.  Hopefully it will be about over by the time we need to head that way.

Everyone stay safe.  I'll try to check in tomorrow.

The track still moving East is a good thing.  We have had close to 2 inches of rain so far and the highest gust about 26 mph.  Forecasting landfall slightly north of Georgetown.  Myrtle Beach is getting some good wind gust now of about 40 mph.

We still have power so far.

We didn't have any issues other than lots of rain.  I think we ended up with 4.5 inches after it was all over.  Dianna worked Friday night and we had a good crowd.  I guess people were tired of staying home all day and wanted to get out.
