Resident skeptic
« on: Jul 31, 2006, 10:46:53 PM »
OK, just so eveyone knows, a Booger Blaster is a skeptic. You may ask what the heck is a skeptic. Well in my opinion that's someone that is always looking for a reasonalbe explanation. It's not a non-believer by any means. It's someone that tries to find a logical reason for what they saw or felt or heard, etc. I try to explore every possible explanation and then if none of them fit, well we may have just seen a ghost? :o

Any more skeptics, I mean Booger Blasters out there?

I would say that I am a skeptic, too. I always look for a different reason if I experience something...

Sometimes seeing isn't believing...

Once every possible cause is ruled out, though, you might have ended up with what can only be explained by the paranormal...

And even after that did he try to explain it away?

I've not seen one myself but I'm sure I would be the one to look for some sort of reasonable explanation. Reasonable or rational at least in my mind.

After going through all the explanations, and not coming up with anything convincing, then, well as I said before...we may have seen a ghost!

Remember the cowardly lion in the "Wizard of Oz"?

I would be saying, "I do believe in ghosts. Oh, I do believe in ghosts. Oh, I do, I do, I do believe in ghosts!"

Jim it still amazes dad, but he has no choice but to believe.....This is how I 100 percent know ghosts must exist because my dad is so level headed and skeptical he would never make such a thing up.....

And me too Dianna! ;)  I'd be saying that right after I passed out.lol

I know my dad is a boogerblaster, he thinks everything unexplainable other thing we see has a explaination.

I don't think I'm a skeptic just practical.  To me everything has a reason.  If a ghost is living in a certain place  there has to be a reason in my mind and that's what I always try to find out.

We define skeptics as someone that looks for a reasonable explanation for everything.  Practical could be the same.  Of course both means we believe, we just want to ask why a few times.  :wink5:

It may surprise people to learn that indeed, I am also a booger blaster.  I come from a Catholic-Baptist background (so, some cnsiderable religious upbringing) and are a scientist and teacher (Physics mainly).

Even my own experiences, after the initial wth moment, I will start looking for solutions.

However, I am yet to believe in a single conspracy theory (lack of evdence), but still keep an open mind
You can't miss me, I am the tall, cuddly giant with a maniacial physicist look on his face
