I have been reading about Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Ky.. I think that would be a really neat place to go spirit huntin'.

Jim and I watched that special on television about the sanatorium and it just amazed me.
My maternal grandfather had tuberculosis at one time and he was in a sanatorium for awhile. I can't remember when he had it, but I would be devastated to find out that he was sent some place to die. I can't remember the dates they said that the place was operating.
I remember visiting with my grandparents and that Grandma sterilized all the dishes that were used in the dishwasher. We weren't allowed to even drink after Granddad...

Why don't you call your Aunt Sandra or Uncle Johnny and find out. That would make it even more interesting, just to know someone that had actually been there.

Haven't talked to Uncle Johnny or Aunt Sandra yet...
I found this link on Waverly Hills and read it. Sounds like a place I would like to visit...

Would anyone be interested in investigating this place? A link to their site is here - http://www.therealwaverlyhills.com/index.htm (http://www.therealwaverlyhills.com/index.htm). TAPS did this one on Ghosthunters. Looked pretty scary. I think you would almost be guaranteed to experience something. The rates appear to be $50.00 per person, from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m., or $100.00 all night. The date would have to be booked in advance, and I am not certain if they have a minimum number of people. If it's as active as I think it will be, I don't know if I could handle being there all night! :grinnnn:
I would certainly be interested in doing it. Probably have to be an overnight event. I don't know how many people in this group are in South Carolina, but if there are enough, we might be able to rent a van or such, and all drive up there. By map quest, I believe it was about 7 hours from Columbia - 500 miles.
This would probably not be one for the faint hearted.

UNCLEG is interested :SmileyNailbiting: just depends on time of year.

I looked at the link and I guess you have to call for open dates. The calendar that is linked to on the site was blank. It was a Google calendar.
We had talked about the WHS one time before but I don't think anyone brought up that you could visit. I think this would be something we would all enjoy. Like UNCLEG, it would depend on the time of year. My garden is just starting to produce and I don't think I'll be going anywhere till it's done.
Let's keep talking about it and see what happens near the later part of the year.

The rates seem to be reasonable. I would probably interested as well.

I wanna go, too! Don't leave me behind.... :grinnnn:

I think this would be a good trip. Put my name on the list.

We had another topic in the Events area started by Shaman that included some information about guided tours. I merged that topic with this one to keep all the info in the same place. This would be an interesting trip.

This sounds like a cool trip for sure!
