Title: ZIPpity do dah...
Post by: duh on Jan 26, 2010, 02:32:40 PM
My new used computer doesn't have all the fonts on it that my old one did.  I would like to add some and fontfreak.com has a bunch of cool one.  Here is the catch, they are zipped.  I've never really understood the zipped thing.  I know compressed, ok.  But how do I get them to work?  The unzip free programs are completely confusing to me.  And we all know that when I get confused I get really confused.  And then there is the worry about viruses and stuff if I down load.  So now you know, I'm in a mess.  Will you please help me?

If you are running AVG and have been updating it every couple of days you shouldn't have a problem downloading from fontfreak.com.

The zip files are compressed files.  It just makes it take less time to download.  WinZip should work fine for un-compressing the files.

I've always been satisfied with the fonts that come with Windows so haven't had to install any additional ones.  You might Google that for information on installing the additional ones if you need that.
