Figured I start a new one since the other is full. We're having burritos smothered underneath stoke's green chili sauce. :542: Mmmmmm!
-
And i went and answered you in the last one. But it was post 100 so I'm not feeling too guilty.
I am working on a large crab salad now. To eat with a fork or to pile on sandwiches.
-
I made a similiar sandwich a couple weeks ago and it was wonderful. I wrapped it and then squished it in the fridge for about 4 hours. I only use Italian as a marinade or dressing. I hate it on salads -- it's Adam's favorite salad dressing though. And you've got crab salad going to?? That sounds great also!
-
Braised chicken with carrots, onions, celery and garlic. Collards with smoked ham hocks and fried potatoes.
-
I wanna go eat with Skhilled! :542:
We will either have leftover macoghetti and salad or Jim will grill us a steak... :grinnnn:
-
macoghetti? I've never heard of that and I've been cooking since I was 12.
-
Skhilled, macoghetti is like beefaroni...
We had pork steak, "rotten" taters (potatoes au gratin), and green beans for supper tonight with some butterscotch pudding for dessert... :grinnnn:
-
You gotta recipe for your rotten tators, Dianna? I haven't found one that I especially like.
We're fixing mexican shredded pork (my fav) and serving it over lime/cilantro rice. Mmmmm. If I can get Adam to bring home some sierra mist, then we'll also fix up some cherry limeades.
-
We are having chicken strips with lemon sauce. Have an extra kid for dinner so I am quick thawing another chicken breast to cook up. Rice to go with.
-
You gotta recipe for your rotten tators, Dianna? I haven't found one that I especially like.
I use the Food Lion brand, Sarah Loo. The directions are on the box. :giggle: We like it... :grinnnn:
We had popcorn shrimp, mozarella sticks, pasta salad for supper tonight. Desi really loves pasta salad and she ate quite a few of the shrimp, too... :542:
-
Dinner was only a few hours ago and I really had to think about what I made. Hamburgers and fries. Pretty simple huh. I think I lost my mind this week.
-
Tonight I'm fixing my favorite cheese enchiladas. I can't wait!!
-
Yum. Cheese enchiladas. :licklips: It has been years since I have had one of those. You got enough for me, too? :grinnnn:
We had grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for supper tonight. I didn't feel like cooking...
-
It's feed a fever, starve a cold, right??
I'm fixing up bacon-cheeseburgers (which i had some shrooms to saute up to put on there too) annd macaroni n cheese. Probably some veggie too. Just cooking to keep busy and stop thinking about how bad I feel.
-
Sarah, lay down, close your eyes and stop thinking that way. You work too hard.
Johnny brought shrimp from the fish camp tonight.
-
Sarah Loo, it sounds like you need a pot of chicken soup instead of a bacon cheeseburger... :)
We went to Mariachi's for supper tonight. The mariachi band was just starting up when we left... :grinnnn:
-
Sarah Loo, it sounds like you need a pot of chicken soup instead of a bacon cheeseburger... :)
I just don't have the time to fix myself chicken soup. God knows that no one in this house would do it.
-
You need to can your own chicken soup...then it's just a heat and eat thing, with all the comfort of being homemade. It's saved me more than once.
Feel better soon! :flower:
-
Hmmmm..... do I need a pressure cooker for canning chicken soup? Do egg noodles do okay canned up or do you just make them fresh?
-
Tonight is Penne al'a Vodka.......yummy!!!
-
We'll be having chicken tenders in a mushroom gravy and pinto beans, rice, and cornbread. :542:
-
I'm thinking orange chicken and veggie stir-fry over rice.
-
I splurged today and bought myself a steak at lunch to cook for dinner. Now the $64M question, will I have the energy to cook it. :laughpound:
-
Chicken strips and rice, with a salad.
-
BLT's tonight - a friend had a bunch of extra tomatoes and gave me a few of them. YUM!
-
Spaghetti and meat sauce, homemade....and a salad.
-
Tonight will be...
http://betterwithbutter.com/herb-gnocchi-with-lemon-thyme-chicken/ (http://betterwithbutter.com/herb-gnocchi-with-lemon-thyme-chicken/)
-
That looks terrific, Sarah. And fattening.
There used to be a Swedish smorgasbord (classy-style) here that had in big letters over their front door, "Food should be served with butter and love". It was wonderful. And I have been a believer ever since.
I have bacon cooking which will go into the slow cooker with potatoes and peppers and onions (and maybe a late addition of cheese) for my own modified loaded potatoes. This will last me 2-3 days unless Jonni is hungry for them too.
-
I just ate breakfast and after seeing what everyone else will be eating tonight, I am getting hungry again... :giggle:
Steak, salad, taters for our supper tonight... :grinnnn:
-
Fried breaded pork chops, homemade baked beans, and a salad with honey mustard dressing.
-
Pork tenderloin on the BBQ, with rice and fresh peaches and cream corn,
-
barleychown, how did the gnocchi turn out? The Olive Garden has a chicken and gnocchi soup that is out of this world.
We had fish sticks, squash and potato casserole, slaw and tomatoes out of the garden.
Once in a while I have hankering for fish sticks.
-
The gnocchi was awesome. Wasn't hard to make, either. :grinnnn:
-
Tonight will be homemade BBQ'd hamburgers and salad.
-
I have been forgetting to eat lately. But when I do I am trying to make fairly healthy choices. But simple. Yesterday was cottage cheese scooped up on crackers and some grapes. I think I ate some grapes?
-
Yummy Tina, i love cottage cheese and often mix fruit in it, but i usually put peaches in mine.
-
Dinner out, since its just Brad and i home tonight,.
-
Brats (sausage, not kids) for supper here tonight. Fast, simple, and filling... :grinnnn:
-
Fried rice
-
I forgot to eat lunch Friday and around 5 I was starved and couldn't figure out why. Then it dawned on me - no lunch.
Tonight I had a home grown tomato sandwich and store bought potato salad and 3,000 chocolate chip cookies.
-
:yikes: 3.000 cookies? That's a lot of cookies!
-
Leftovers. Now the fridge is cleaned out.
-
Sounds like my kind of dinner. lol.
-
I cleaned the refrigerator out last night... :grinnnn:
Fried rice. :licklips: Love it.... :542:
-
Toasted tomato sandwiches and salad.
-
Last night I fixed a pressed salami sandwich. Tonight it's bratwursts and whatever else I can find that is super quick and easy.
-
:yikes: 3.000 cookies? That's a lot of cookies!
Yep. I love cookies. Especially peanut butter.
Tonight it's Johnny's favorite. Meatloaf. He's a low maintenance kind of guy. Augratin potatoes and green peas.
-
Tonight it is popcorn. I may eat the last peach after a while.
-
Tonight is breaded chicken, with rice and veggies and a salad.
-
We had pork fried rice with chicken wings last night for supper from our local Thai restaurant. Sure was good. :licklips: That is what I am eating for lunch right now.
Still haven't figured out supper for tonight yet... ::)
-
Ohhh, fried rice. That is what I want right now. But work first, lunch will wait. I may either make some or buy some for dinner tonight.
-
Last night we had General's Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, Crab Ragoons, Lemon Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and Sweet n Sour Chicken. Yup. We went to the chinese place at the grocery store. It made a tasty lunch as well. I think we'll have chili dogs, chips, and a veggie for dinner tonight.
-
I haven't decided on dinner. Jonni went out with a friend so I'll just zap something in a while. Maybe a corn dog?
-
I let Dianna off the hook tonight. We had grilled cheese and chips.
-
Chili or potato and leek soup with crusty bread.
-
Curried chicken and rice.
-
Mexican lasagna
-
That sounds yummy too Sarah!
-
Today is Johnny's birthday so we had fillet mignon, potatoes and onions cooked in the oven and grilled asparagus. Johnny said wieners would have been just as good as the steak.l
-
Happy birthday to Johnny! :hb3: Sounds like you fed him good... :grinnnn:
I fixed fried flounder, french fries, and pork and beans for our supper. I know fried isn't good for you, but if I eat fish it has got to be cooked that way... :542:
-
ymmmm. Both dinners sound scrumptious!
-
Your dinners both sound very tasty! Tonight I'm going to instruct the girls and they're going to make chicken fajitas with extra cheese 'cause I love my cheese!!
-
Johnny went to Sagebrush and brought me back mountain trout and mashed potatoes. It's pretty good but the trout isn't as good as trout at the Cracker Barrel.
-
I'm fixing homemade spaghetti and meatballs. They have been simmering the past hour and a half and smell wonderful! I can't wait to eat!
-
Jonni sprang for pizza and wings for a crowd. A friend's grandmother came home to die and she was feeding the family that have all gathered. I am glad, they have fed her plenty. So she brought me a couple pieces of pizza.
-
Breaded chicken, with rice, veggies and salad.
-
Sandwiches or leftover fajitas from Friday night. I am way too tired to cook...
-
Honey ham in the crockpot, mashed potatoes and beans.
-
Yum! Sounds good Penny! I really have no idea what we are having tonight but if I ever figure it out I will let you know!
-
We went out to eat at Pizza Hut tonight and had a disturbing experience with it. :razberry: I am looking for the link now to email the corporate office to complain...
-
Fried chicken and potato salad and rolls. As soon as Jonni brings it from the local grocery deli.
-
We ate a late dinner and had egg rolls. Nothing exciting but they were good. Surprisingly enough, James was okay with just eating that. He likes big meals.
-
I ended up with a bowl of cereal. Good enough for me.
-
Dianna, I saw your experience. Horrible way to run a business and dangerous as well.
We had spaghetti tonight.
-
Ewwww, thats gross Dianna....i would complain too!
Tonight we are having chicken on the BBQ and baked potatoes.
-
we went to Outback and I had salmon. It was good.
-
Aunt Bonnie fixed taco salad for me tonight...
I love taco salad... :542:
-
Tonight we're having Ranch Cheeseburgers and chicken/bean/velveeta dip stuff with tortilla chips. I've got some peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies in the oven now, I don't know if they will make it until after dinner though...
-
Peanut butter oatmeal chocolate cookies are my favorite. I don't put chips in them though, just cocoa.
I've got a pot of vegetable soup on the burner.
-
Mmmmmm, soup. I'm in such a soup mood that it is ridiculous!
-
We had enchiladas last night. I think I will make some soup today. The weather is going to be cool so soup sounds perfect. Now I just have to decide what kind. I would love vegetable soup but James would probably complain that it doesn't have meat. I guess I can try though and see if he says anything.
-
Tonight we're have the ever-practical hot dogs and will probably bake up some tator tots. I've got a ketchup craving!
-
I ate an entire Totinos pizza for lunch. So dinner will be something very light. Not sure what yet (if anything at all, after an entire pizza, I shouldn't be hungry again for a while.. lol)
-
In your defense, Barb, Totinos pizza's are small. I can definitely eat a whole one and still be hungry later. :giggle:
I have had tomato rotini soup cooking for most of the day. It smells yummy! I am hungry but am trying to wait for James to get home from hunting before I eat. I'm not sure that I'm going to make it though. The sun is setting but I imagine it will be an hour before he gets home. Tristen took one look at the soup and said "yuck" (which I completely expected him to say as this is what he says about most meals that don't come from McDonalds or something kid-friendly such as chicken nuggets or hot dogs). So, he is eating whole grain blueberry waffles and bacon right now.
-
I found some anahiem peppers in the garden and promptly stuffed them with mozzerella and grilled them with the hot dogs. They were sooo yummy.
Jessica, I'm just dying to know how that soup turned out. Do you put the rotini in at the end, so it's not smushy when you go to serve it?
-
Sarah, I still haven't tried the soup. Yes, the noodles go in for a bit at the end. I'm sure they would be a mushy mess if I had then in all day. :giggle: I actually have the soup in the crock pot so the noodles go in for the last 30 minutes. I guess I will add them soon. Then it shouldn't be done too long before James gets home and maybe I will be able to wait for him. :giggle: I will definitely be back to let you know how the soup tastes after we eat.
-
BBQ'd chicken, salad, veggies and potatoe's, just need to decide on baked or mashed.
-
Okay, I know I posted in here last night about my dinner but I guess it vanished into thin air.
The soup was great. I was wrong about the noodles though....they go in for the last 15 to 20 minutes. I read the recipe again after I posted that, thankfully before I added them. :giggle:
I will post the recipe tonight when I get home.
Your dinner sounds good Penny!
-

I kept checking, Jessica, and finally went to bed without knowing the status of your soup. It's a wonder I slept at all!!
-
I'm sorry Sarah. I really did come in and post about the soup but I don't know what happened to it. I was going to post the recipe too but I was too engrossed in Desperate Housewives so I just shut down the computer. :giggle:
-
Jessica the only place that I remember you posting about the soup was in the Spirit Lounge. At least that is what I thought. :ScratchHead: Maybe it was reply 85 in this topic?
Aunt Bonnie fixed us Greek salad for supper tonight. :542: Sure was good, too! :licklips:
-
I posted after #85 in this topic last night but when I came back today it wasn't here. Maybe I forgot to hit submit or something. It's been known to happen before. :giggle:
We had country goulash tonight. It was good. I am taking leftover soup to work for lunch tomorrow. Yum!
-

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does that... :giggle:
I sure would like to see the recipe for that in the soup topic, Jessica. :licklips: Does goulash qualify as a soup? Sounds like it to me... :542:
-
No, goulash is not a soup. I will post the recipe though.
-
I had split pea soup with hamhocks. I'm stuffed.
-
Yummy! Sounds good Tina. Split pea soup is on my list to make soon.
-
:ScratchHead: Please don't laugh at me, but what are split peas? Are they the little bitty green peas (English)? Sounds like a recipe for the soup topic to me... :wink5:
-
split peas are dried peas (english) that are in halves. It will be sold in the dried bean section of your store. Directions are on the packages and they are much faster to cook than beans. No soaking. Ham in some form is always good, so is bacon. It can be made thin and soup-like to pretty thick where you can almost eat it with a fork.
-
Split pea soup was one of my Mom's favorite foods!
-
Yummy, Tina. That sounds good. :licklips: Have you posted the recipe in the soup topic yet? Do you just add what vegetables you like in with them?
I am not a fan of the little bitty green peas.... :razberry:
-
If you don't like peas, I would try some canned pea soup or something before diving into a pot full, Dianna. It is definitely pea flavored. Yes carrots and onions are a given most of the time with this. All usually strained into a creamy texture.
I don't really like lentils, myself. Although I have forced myself and my kids to eat them on occasion.
