These are recipes that I have found in the recipe books that I have bought recently.
Crockpot Slew Beef
Brown Beef put in crockpot.
1 can celery soup
1 can mushroom soup
1 can onion soup
This can cook a big part of the day. You can add cooked carrots, peas and/or green beans. Great with noodles.

did you try this one? Seems it would be good on a cold day.

I haven't yet. I don't usually stock cream of celery soup. But your right is sounds perfect for a cold day. And with only a space heater this year I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of crockpotting.

I got some free range beef stew meat today at the farmers market and I'm going to cook it in the crock pot tomorrow. I won't use the soups though. I'll just do it the regular way. Totally different topic but I also got kale and steamed it using chicken broth instead of water and Johnny liked it. Yippee.

I hope Johnny likes it the next time you make it, Sheri.

Anything in a crockpot is fine by me....good recipe, thanks. :grinnnn:
-
They do make great food don't they. And they are so easy.
-
They do and they are practically fool proof too.

Johnny ate stew beef and rice yesterday for lunch and again tonight for dinner. He is on prednisone so he's probably starving.
and does this say "slew" instead of stew or do I need to clean my glasses?
-
it says slew... but i read it as stew until tonight... i just noticed the slew as i clicked in!
-
Guess the cow was slain so technically we can call it slew beef.

:giggle: just what i needed sheri... a smile to break up a miserable day!

I believe it's a way of saying slow beef with an accent lol. The people from the hills around here have an accent that is almost a language all it's own. Sometimes I can't understand them at all.
