Another open for posts.
Cooler weather moved in, feels better to me.
-
about 60 right now, partly sunny.
-
I'm crossing my fingers for some rain. If it has to be cold and dreary, it may as well rain.
-
Cloudy, 50, calm.
-
Cloudy, calm, 58*.
-
Hot hot hot. Rain supposed to be coming in tomorrow
-
It was a beautiful Memorial Day here. Low humidity with a slight breeze. I think the high yesterday was about 84°. It was even a bit cool at night.
Today the humidity is much higher and they are calling for some rain late and then more rain tomorrow. The news last night put the chance of rain at 20% today and 40% tomorrow. We need some rain.
-
This morning we had heavy misty rainy stuff happening. It's supposed to clear up and be around 65* today. Looking forward to the hot weekend ahead. But not for long.
-
It was muggy and hot here yesterday. Sunday was our low humidity day. We've had rain off and on all day, supposed to be more tomorrow.
-
Damp, around 52, calm.
-
Hot, humid, with daily thunderstorms. Our normal summer pattern.
-
Sunny, around 60, light breeze sometimes.
-
It is lovely 61* right now. Supposed to get to about 90* today.
-
Currently 73. Will get to low 90s today.
-
Sunny (fading away slowly), around 75, calm.
Hit 90 today, too hot.
-
Cloudy, around 50, calm.
-
50 is too cold for these old bones.
64* here and overcast. Will get to 80* later.
-
Wet. Yesterday too. Never got out of 70s yesterday.
-
Too freakin hot, around 97, calm.
-
Ditto with humidity in the single digits.
-
Actually cooled down to about 90 here today. Of course, its been raining all day. lol
-
Went down to around 91. Still to hot.
May hit triple digits tomorrow, then cool to upper 80's for few or so days, then the heat cranks up again, to upper 90's.
Guess walking outside is what it feels like walking into an oven.
-
Naw, just getting into a hot car sitting in the sun is like an oven.
-
Not a hot weather guy, car probably would have been a better description of (excessive) heat.
No wind here, probably some humidity in the mix as well, not idea what it is.
-
The humidity is what gets you. Last week we had heat indices of 110 just cause of the humidity. Actual temp was around 95.
-
Not making it to triple digits here today. :Yahoo:
In and out of clouds, 79, quite humid, calm (except a breeze that comes out of nowhere, could be from the chances of thunderstorms we will have next few days).
-
Our weather has been crazy this year. Already had a number of days in triple digits and even more where the heat index was 100+. We had a cold front come through yesterday and this morning it was really nice. We had been having 80s in the mornings but this morning it was the mid 60s. It was a welcome change. This hot weather is keeping the grass from growing very fast though. We mowed yesterday and it had been 2 weeks since we mowed the last time.
-
We have had sever 100° days and even more 100+ heat index days also. But the last week we've been rainy and cooler temps. Been nice, just have to dodge the rain storms if we need to go out.
-
Ugh. Saying it's hot is an understatement. From Weather Underground:

We are starting to warm up. But nothing like yours, Barb. Keep safe.
-
We've been getting the hot, humid weather also. It's 86 this morning with a dew point of 79, 81% humidity which gives you a heat index of 99 and it's only 9:30 in the morning. We are supposed to have some afternoon thunderstorms with a moderate chance of severe weather tomorrow. We need the rain just not the lightening, wind and hail that comes with severe storms in the summer.
-
We had a thunder storm come through mid-afternoon which really cooled us down. Thankfully. The heat was getting unbearable.
-
Sunny and clouds, around 83, calm.
Been quite hot, too hot, around here. Quite a few days being triple digits.
-
It's been quite hot and humid here too, William.
-
Same here, but its the norm, kinda...started a little earlier in the year than norm.
-
I feel like I've died and gone to hell. Hot, extremely hot, and dry.
-
Cloudy, around 54, calm.
Feels so good out, I can deal with these morning temps.
-
Clear, some smoke lingers, around 64, calm.
Smoke filled air yesterday, if it looks hazy, its smoke.

Smoke was quite overwhelming yesterday.
-
I feel for you, William. I hope for rain for you in the long term to stop the fires in their tracks.
-
Ditto that.
It's another 100° day here (index 117) Supposed to cool down this coming week to around 90.
-
We will be in triple digits the next few days. I am not happy with it.
-
Sucks don't it? This is normal for this time of year here. What's not normal is that its been like this off and on since June.
-
Rain. Lots of it. 12.83 inches in the last 3 days.
-
Us too Jim.
-
That's a lot of rain.
-
News said tonight that Clarendon and Sumter counties got the most rainfall out of the state. Jim and I live in Clarendon and Megan, the girls, and Chris live in Sumter. Reports said we got 20 inches in Clarendon and Megan said they got 24 inches. After seeing Barb's yard today trying to get it to draining, I was thinking we got more than what we thought we did... ::)
We are supposed to be on the upside of the bad weather now. If it surprises us, Barb will be coming over to stay the night with us. She was anxious today and I can't say I blame her. Their yard turned into a lake... :SmileyNailbiting:
I just got off the phone with Justin. He said they didn't get anything like we did. I am thankful...
-
I hope you are on the downside. That sounds downright scary.
-
Just saw a report on another news station that said that the cities of Charleston and Columbia had the worst damage of the state. I shared the pics from that site on FB, if you are interested. I have seen some heartbreaking pictures today from all over the state...
-
My rain gauge is pretty accurate. You could be 5 miles apart and it would be raining so hard you can't see in one spot and not a drop in the other. I don't doubt that some areas got 20+ inches, but we only got close to 13 inches at the house. At the peak last night from about 10:00 to midnight we were getting rain at a rate of 1.75 inches per hour.
-
Yes, rain totals differ from even close neighbors. The news said we could get up to an inch of rain. I'm here to say we got quite a bit more than an inch.
But not near as much as you folks. Stay safe.
-
Jim's rain gauge is showing 14.88 inches of rain this morning. We got only 1.32 overnight, thank goodness.
-
Guess that the reports of Clarendon and Sumter counties reported by WIStv yesterday were incorrect, or maybe they just meant the viewing area. I saw a weather module on FB somewhere that stated Mt. Pleasant received 24+ inches and Summerville received 17+ inches. They had to have been talking about their viewing area. :ScratchHead: Jim told me that the reports we are hearing are just Doppler estimates. That is why I am reading/seeing/hearing conflicting reports.
-
Keep in mind that is much more news worthy to report 24 inches of rain than it is to use the weather stations that have digital rain gauges. I saw a graph yesterday that was a compilation of the rain reported by some of the official weather stations and their rain totals were very close to what mine says. In fact that is how I calibrated mine.
Today the sun is shining. :Glee: We are starting toi dry out!
-
Yay! Are you able to hit the roads today?
-
I tried but water across the road and I've only got 2 directions out. Both had 6 to 9 inches of water running across it so I came back home.
-
There is no telling what the soil under the road is doing with all the wet weather we have had. Roads are washing out with people on them because they didn't listen to the slogan, "Turn Around, Don't Drown".
I am so glad my hubby didn't go thru it, even though we ran into some coming home on Saturday night after I got thru working. We held our breaths all the way home...
-
Light rain, around 50, light easterly breeze at times.
-
Wet and very very windy, around 53.
More or less a wind storm.
-
The winds are everywhere in the west. Hunker down and keep safr, William.
-
Going to be a wet day tomorrow (2+ inches predicted w/possible severe storms) then turn cold for the weekend again.
-
Keep safe, Barb.
-
About hour or so after I posted above message things settled down outside.
Cloudy, 41, calm (as far as I can tell).
-
So far the worst of the storms have been streaming to the west of us - Okaloosa & Walton Counties have had tornado warnings one after the other all day. Those storms are moving this way but hoping they lose velocity by the time they get here.
-
Keep safe barb.
-
We got lucky, the tornado warnings skipped us. They were in Walton Co just to the west of us, next thing I knew Gulf Co (just to the east of us) was getting them. So far we've been lucky. We're not done with the storms yet, but I believe we're out of the woods for anything severe.
-
Cloudy, 42, calm.
-
Light freezing rain, upper 20's, easterly wind up to 15 mph.
-
Its been warm & dry, but rain moves in tomorrow and by Thurs our highs will be mid 60s. I realize for some of you that's still high temps, but we've been high 70s and low 80s for the last few days.
-
I prefer the 70' through 80's. Today's high was 60. Still too cool for me.
-
Cloudy, 30/31, light easterly breeze.
Had freezing rain earlier, but still have chances for more.
Icy tree.

-
I know it's destructive. But it sure is beautiful.
-
Wet and getting colder by the minute. Started the day at 4 a.m. at 74°. it is currently 63° and we've had 1.5 inches of rain.
-
Light rain, 35, light easterly breeze.
Both thermometers have 35, just light rain, possibly mix, could not tell.
-
Woke to 74 & muggy. Rain all day. "Cold front" has come through. Temp right now is 61 and dropping.
-
Too bleeping cold. 35* right now. :freezin:
-
Tell me about it. Its a bit warmer here right now (40) but we froze last night. I have soda cans with water in it to put my smoke out on the porch. When I went to douses it this morning there was ice in it. Too cold for me.
-
Light snow, around 34, calm as far as I tell.
Snow: 1" or close to it.
-
Its already 74 at 9 a.m. The rain is supposed to be moving out today.
-
Light snow, around 33, calm.
-
Cold and I don't like it. (41*)
Hopefully it will get better eventually.
-
Wet. That front stalled out on top of us, so we didn't cool down and it is still raining. Gonna be until after the new year.
-
Clear, 29, light easterly wind.
Have 4 to 6" (hard to tell) of snow. At some point east wind will pick up, no idea how strong it'll be.
-
No change here since yesterday. Areas all around me are flooding. Rivers are overflowing, etc. Sure would like for the rain to stop.
-
Sunny, 24, easterly wind (30 mph give or take).
-
Today was the warmest day in quite awhile at 57*. I'll take it. It ir supposed to get rainy on Monday and hang around all week.
-
Today's high was 50. 47 right now with rain moving in. We don't need anymore rain.
-
Clear, 22, easterly wind hasn't changed since last post.
-
Glad I'm not there. I'm bellyachin' about our 40° weather. lol
-
Light freezing rain, 31, light easterly breeze.
Trying to warm since yesterday, sure is a slow process.
-
Rain. It's getting colder too. I am not thrilled.
-
It is 40.5° here right now, with a wind chill of 36.3°... :freezin:
Tina, would you rather have snow?
-
Currently 39 (don't know wind chill but its windy out) High today was 53. Will get colder. No rain. Not until Thurs which is when it is to warm back up to the 60s /low 70s
-
Tina, would you rather have snow?
Yes, I would rather have snow than temps that hover just above, teasing me. But I'd rather have daytime temps between 70-80 all the time and nighttime between 60-70.
And enough snow and rain to not be in a drought.
-
Clear, 32, light easterly wind.
-
30.7° with a w/c of 26.3° right now. Temperature was 25.2° when I got up this morning... :freezin:
-
Brr...
-
Finally was able to go into town yesterday. Our road has some nasty spots still. The feeling of being caged was getting old.
Cloudy, 35, light (easterly) breeze.
-
Soggy but sticking tight to my hillside. Temps moving between 40*lows to 50* highs.
-
It is warming up (55 right now) but rain rain rain. We've had enough rain for a while. Got another front coming in on Sat.
