The population crisis in Japan is causing a change in corporate policies. Particularly with Canon:
By CNN's Kyung Lah
TOKYO, Japan (CNN) -- Even before one reaches the front door of Canon's headquarters in Tokyo, one can sense the virtual stampede of employees pouring out of the building exactly at 5:30 p.m.
Japan's birth rate of 1.34 is below the level needed to maintain the country's population.
In a country where 12-hour workdays are common, the electronics giant has taken to letting its employees leave early twice a week for a rather unusual reason: to encourage them to have more babies.
"Canon has a very strong birth planning program," says the company's spokesman Hiroshi Yoshinaga. "Sending workers home early to be with their families is a part of it."

This is kind of amusing. But I bet it works.

knowing them here, it will probably become a game show...

Very interesting line of thought. The saving overtime seems to be to be a better reason for having the program than wanting their employees to have more kids.
-
They are going to need the overtime if they start producing young'uns, though.... :giggle:
-
:idea1: Wal mart needs to pick up on this idea since they like to post memos on the board about no overtime but, I think we can convince them to make it part of the benefit package. :rofl1:

Isn't it already a game show? :rofl1: :laughmao: :laughpound: :laugh1:
If Toyota starts doing this... watch out!

Well playing the game would be okay. Winning, whew! I think not. Assuming another kid would be the jackpot.

The Japanese are fun loving pranksters - I mean one of my 60+ year old bosses has a habit of dying his hair purple...
-
I love that idea. I have had my hair purple, green and grey, but not on purpose. I mixed the wrong hair color. If it ever happens again I'll just pretend that I planned it that way.
