Anyone have any nice pics of fall colors in your area?

Beautiful, Wrennie!   Geesh, with our temperature at a high of 93 today we're still seeing nothing but green on October 5th.  Right now, we're looking at temperatures in the 90's and high 80's until Tuesday.  I'm afraid what's going to happen is that it's going to stay hot for a while yet, and then turn cold very quickly which will make all the leaves just fall off the trees and we won't be seeing any Fall colors this year.  :SmileyFit:  We always like to take a trip up the River Road, which runs along the Mississippi, in the Fall to enjoy all the awesome colors, but it's possible that may not be happening this year.  :Crybaby2:

Beautiful!  Not a lot of color here yet, but with these cool temps, it should be starting pretty soon.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

Oh, Wrennie, the second picture with that gorgeous blue sky is awesome.  :Wow:  We don't really have much Fall color here yet, but since the temperatures dropped quite a bit today, we may be seeing some pretty soon.   ;)

We haven't got much color here yet, but this morning the temperature is cooler and the forecast is for more of the same so maybe we will see a change soon.  Normally the 3rd week in October is the best time for a drive up to the mountains and by then the hills are ablaze with color.

I drive down this boulevard & see these stunning colors almost every day. I've been wanting to take a pic before the leaves were gone, but had to wait until I was on the passenger side of the car, cuz there's no safe place to pull over!

Nature sure can put on a beautiful show!

Oh, Tonya, I love the second photo!   :Wow:

Beautiful, Patty, but what are the reddish bushes in your picture?   :SmileyQmarks:   :ScratchHead:

This is just a guess, but I'm thinking they're probably Euonymus (Burning Bush). I have a couple of them in my yard, but they turn a deep red when the weather cools... not that brilliant pink. :dunno: (They're deciduous, like these are.) I suppose I could pull up in the parking lot there at the YMCA today & take a closer look, when I'm out & about today.

I'll be anxious to hear what you find out.  :ScratchHead: We have the Euonymus (Burning Bushes) here, but they get firey red about this time of the year.   :Wow:

Mine gets fiery red too, Patti, just before it starts losing all the leaves. I was surprised when I pulled up close & saw that these are, indeed, Euonymus bushes! :o

Apparently, this particular variety of Euonymus loses its leaves quite a bit earlier than mine does, & doesn't wait around to turn red.

Mine (below) is just starting to turn, & each leaf seems to pick which color it wants to be right now. :ScratchHead:

Some are still green, a few are that hot pink color like the ones at the "Y", & others are already turning red. :dunno: (They'll all turn a deep scarlet before they drop, though.) The shape of the leaves, & the berries tell me they're basically the same bush.

Geesh, Patty, I love the color, but I don't think I've ever seen any of them around here get the hot pink color. :smileyNo: Now, I'm wondering if it could have something to do with the different climates we live in.  :ScratchHead:

Those are really beautiful, Wrennie!   :Wow: We don't have many fall colors here yet, but maybe that will change with the cooler weather we're getting now. ;)

Well, it's not exactly "Fall" anymore, & all the other bushes in town are looking pretty bleak right now... but few days ago I noticed this row of what I assume to be in the Burning Bush (Euonymus) family, sitting at the edge of a parking lot. I thought it was nice to see such a pretty splash of color for a change, so I had to take a pic!

Upon closer glance, I saw that the leaves are mottled with ivory specks. (I don't know if that's natural, or if it has some kind of disease, but I thought it was pretty.)
