Mystery Bulb
« on: Oct 24, 2007, 07:43:44 PM »
I'm not playing in the dirt today... I'm working! (Not as much fun!) While digging up & moving Lily bulbs, I keep coming across bulbs that don't have markers (several feet away from each other), & they're obviously something, but I cant identify them! :ScratchHead:

The things that came up this year & were tagged (so I'd know what they were when moving time came around), are Asiatic, Tiger, Calla, Canna, Stargazer & Day Lily, & Solomon's seal.  I think all of them are accounted for, so what the heck is this? :dunno:

Could they be daffodils?? I have no idea. I need to post a bunch of bulbs I found while digging, also. Good luck!

Nope.  There are no Daffs, Tulips or Hyacinth bulbs in that bed at all. (I've never seen a daff bulb this big though... sorry, I forgot the nickel!) :dummy: The only things I've ever planted in that bed were Lilies & the Solomon's Seal... (which I think is in the Lily family.)

I've observed today, that most of the different Lilies have different kinds of bulbs. :nutz: If I hadn't been so hard at work out there, I'd have thought to take pics of them as I moved them! :SlapSelf: (I'm not done with the project yet, so MAYBE I can backtrack & dig up a few & take pics, while the ground is still soft.) :wink5:
