Ouiga Board... Harmless Game Or Just The Opposite?
« on: Nov 16, 2006, 09:48:18 PM »
Although Ouija boards are usually sold in the novelty or game section of stores, many people swear that there is something occult about them. I was just wondering how many of our members have had experiences with the Ouiga board. Is it a good tool to talk with the dead or a portal to evil?

Sound off, please...

I've not had much experience with a Ouija Board.  My sister had one when we were growing up and I remember her playing with it a few times.  I don't remember anything bad happening, in fact I remember thinking at the time that she made it give the answer she wanted to.  Now if it had of moved on it's own without anyone touching it, that would have been another story.

It wasn't long before it ended up in the closet with all the other games that failed to hold our attention for very long.

Boring I know but that's it!  ;D

I think that the Ouija Board is pretty much the same as the glass, and personally I don't find anything evil about it.

I thought I would bump this topic up as I was reading some things on the net today about this.  There seems to be a heated debate with actually 3 points of view.

  • It is inherently dangerous, can open portals to evil entities and should never be used.
  • It is only dangerous if used with evil intent, but can be a useful tool for spirit mediumship if used properly and with good intent.
  • It is inherently harmless and has no real powers of mediumship for good or evil; its effects, if any, are only psychological in nature.

Which is true?  Surveys have been taken and of those that responded, 65% said it was dangerous and 35% said it was harmless.

All my experience with one was treating it as a game and as a result it didn't hold our interest for very long.

Hmmm, we used them all the time as teens. Mind you, we used it as a game and never seriously.

I think they are bad and the reason!! One night many years ago me and my second wife and her cousin was trying to reach Sherrie's (my second wife) step dad. We had been fooling with it for a while when all at once it got bitter cold in the room ( was July and about 102 outside) then we heard this loud half laugh half scream sound and this spirit which we all thought was demonic appeared and just as fast disappeared needless to say we at least I have never allowed one in the house.
Several years later I met and married Billie one night we were discussing the spirit world or what we each thought. She told me how one time she and her ex-husband and a friend had played with a Ouiga board her husband got upset and burned the board in the bar b que pit. Just for fun during the week she and her friend bought another Ouiga board and put it in the bar b que knowing her husband would bar b que like he did every Saturday. She said he went out to light the coals and he screamed so loud the neighbors thought he was hurt and he could not speak she said he was white as a sheet all he could do was point and say it's back. She said she never did tell him the truth about placing the board there. :rofl1: :laughmao: :laughpound:

Two quite interesting stories Jimmy.

I can't say that I have ever seen a demon so the only thing I would have to compare with would be what I have seen in the movies and I don't think that is really what they look like.

I bet her ex told everyone about the board and that one would have helped fuel the folks that believe that it is magical, good or bad.

Lots of differing opinions on the net if you google it.

All my experience with one was treating it as a game and as a result it didn't hold our interest for very long.

Therein lies the danger, I believe. People consider it a game, because it is marketed as such, and don't realize the problems that can develop through opening a door to the spirit world.

My experience with the glass (same as Ouiga, just different "markers") was bad and I believe it came through my inexperience and my naivette. I learned quickly that it wasn't "just a game"...

Just a gut reaction I don't like them.  And there are times when my feelings alone are sufficient to affect my behavior and this is one of them.

I believe that they are harmless on their own but if their is power/a channel through one of the users then problems can develop.

People without experience and wisdom shouldn't be wondering around in the spirit world.  Everyone isn't nice even there.

I for one, have never even seen a Ouiga board. My mom was a firm believer that they were portals for evil spirits and drilled that into my head. I had friends that played with them at sleepovers(I couldn't go because mom knew they had parents that allowed Ouigas  :rolleyes1: ), and some of them would say they made contact with something. One friend said he and his Dad made contact several times with a spirit named "Sam" who would ask for cigarettes and alcohol. Not sure if he was pulling my leg or if it really happened, tho.

I remember my Aunt(moms younger sister) coming to babysit me when i was little and she brought her cousin with her, they brought what turns out to be a Ouiga board, and i can still remember my Mom calling home to check on us, and my Aunt telling her that we were playing a board game ( i wasnt, i was sitting and watching) and when she told my mom what game, i can still hear her voice through the phone......to get the ******** thing out of her house and NEVER bring it back in.
That has been my one and only experience with it.
