I can't find the pattern for my throw anywhere. I've looked online but none of them are the exact same. I may have to make up my own pattern. I kind of remember it but not precisely.

So I was making a scarf that I decided I hated the way it was coming out, with that specialty yarn, bernat galaxy/mars. So I ripped the whole thing out yesterday and started it on my small knifty knitter with a solid acrylic as its base yarn. It's coming out much more even. I like it much better this way. I'll make the center of the scarf with solid off white and the other end blended with the red again. That way I can make it as long as I want.

Very nice project Christy and it looks so cool.  Good idea on the individual squares to keep from having to start all over.

I am still plugging away on my projects.  I am almost done with the greens/pinks ripple baby blanket.  Then I will do an opposite one cuz Lys' teacher is having twin granddaughters this spring.  About 3/4 of the way done on my two boy blankets and plugging away on a couple of other projects.

I am determined to get these done and out of my WIP tote!

These squares I did with a load of scrap yarns I had. Each square is unique. They're about 7" square. I laid them all out a long time ago and have them in order to sew together. I think 4 years sitting in a bag is long enough, don't you?

These I've had even longer. They're about 11" square. It doesn't look it in the picture but there are actually 2 yarns. One is just a bit bluer in its mix. There are 2 of them and 7 of the lighter. I may put a white border around them and then attatch them together. I started these a LONG time ago. Maybe 1995?

Those will look cool, Wrennie! I wish I had a pic of one my mom did with raised flowers on each square. No two squares on hers was the same either. She did a brown background, tho. Good luck getting them done.

I've seen patterns for that kind. Very cool. I'd have to do all different flowers cause no two would come ou the same. :giggle:

Oooh, pretty! I love the colors. I have to learn how to do that ripple pattern. (like I need another project.)

Well I kinda eyeball mine on width with a chain stitch, then decide how many stitches in each ripple I want.  Then I start with the down ripple and stitch 8 (for exmaple) skip 2 then for the up ripple stitch 8 and in that 8th hole out in 1 extra stitch and the first stitch of the next down 8 (3 stitches in the top).

The turning is the "fun" part cuz when you get to the end, you stitch and end up with only 7 so you need to put an extra stitch in the last hole, and then chain 3 and also put a stitch in the first hole so you get 8 going back down.

Ok those directions stink... there are actual good directions online.

Well if you go by my directions then no... but it really is not that hard to do once you get the hang of it.  Start with a small tester project with just a couple of ripples... makes it easier and if you mess up you are not so frustrated.

Good going, Triss. A lucky baby for sure. Did you crochet those or use your KKs?

I used the KKs for the hats... the blue and red ones.

Nice hats Triss. I'm using my KK to make a thick long scarf. Then I'm leaving the ends opened so you can slide your hands inside the ends like a muff.

Cool, Wrennie. I've seen flat scarves with the ends folded back up to make pockets. I think that is the kind I want to make myself.

Hmmmm. I could always fold the ends up and make it more pocketlike. Thats an idea too. Thanks Tina, I'll have to play with it and see how I like it.

I like both of those ideas!  What kind of yarn are you using to make it nice and thick?

A pocket could also hold your car keys and things. You could still add fringe to the folded bottom if you want the fluff. Anyway, it's all in how you want to use it.

I'm using Bernat Galaxy and off white worsted weigh together, Then the long part around the neck just worsted. The mix part on either ends is the "pocket" part.

That is going to be very pretty.  Are you using the blue loom?

Yup, the blue one. I like this yarn better KK'd than crocheted, but still it's not my favorite. Guess thats why it seems to be discontinued, nobodys favorite. The Pebbles sits much nicer and its a similar idea.

They sure do, I have a scarf in each one and prefer the look of the pebbles but the feel of the galaxy.
