Was up in Portland recently. Took my son to ITT Technical College, and they actually accepted him! LOL

Took a photo of a tulip, thought I'd share...
Hugs, Peg

P.S. I use an 8 year old Canon Rebel EOS.  with a whopping 5 megapixels!
I also learned recently of a technique to use on photos called the Orton Technique. It was used on this photo. :)

How are you?  I'm great!  Glad to see you! Hope we meet again!

Stunning!!!  So how does the Orton Technique work?  Other than to take an amazing shot of course.

And congrats to your son!

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

Peggy, I just looked up some info on the Orton Technique and that is awesome!  I always take a couple of pics from the same spots, because inevitably one or two will be out of focus.  I can't wait to try this out!

And your picture is fabulous!  The tulip really seems to glow.

Well,
First of all, I cheat with the Orton technique.  I use Photoshop and do it electronically.  You basically make a copy of your photo and blur it some and then place it on top of the original and then knock back the opacity(a lot or a little).  The trend, I am told is to make them as "dark" as possible.  It seems they sell.  What I like about the technique is that it seems to ad "depth" to the photos.

P.S. My camera is a SLR.

If you google it, you'll find the instructions...and you play with the settings for each photo.

Thanks for the congrats on my kid! :)

The Orton Technique has added a wonderful perspective to my photographs...
I was told by a professional to stop hiding my work and put it out there.... so I'm in the process of slowly doing that on a website called etsy( I think)

The sunlight was coming down on the tulip in such a way that it did look liked it glowed...that is what prompted me to take the photo. I was sure that no matter what I did, I couldn't loose -- and I took several pics, and they were all good.. but this one, I think because it's a close up, to me was just specactular.
