Love the changes!  I like seeing who just got done playing what and seeing the scores and champs change.

I'll definitely check.  That is the main reason I wanted to change to the E-Arcade.  There are about 4000 games available and most are really easy to install.

whats this mean -->Score were not saved because you already have maximum number of scores

It means I didn't fix a setting when I installed E-Arcade.  I can limit the number of scores that get saved per individual.  I had it set to unlimited but when I installed this one, it defaulted to 1.  I just changed it back to unlimited.  I'll watch the disk space used and see if I need to limit it.

I'll let you know on the new games.

Update:  Worked on some of the errors we were getting.  Fixed the one that wasn't telling the number of games.  Also there seemed to be a bug in the shout box on the arcade screen.  That is fixed also.

Please let me know if you run across a game that doesn't play now.  It may be that I have to reload some.  With all the tweaking and stuff, things can get kind of out of whack.

You may notice on the post screen down there with all the yahoo, msn, etc symbols, there is a new one.  Clicking it will open a window with all your scores on the games you have played.  The time played may not be exact because we had SMF Arcade for a little bit but it's close.  I played around with putting trophies in the signature lines but it just put trophies and took away the rest of your signature.  I couldn't get it to keep both so opted for this.

I hope to get around to trying to install some new games this week.

Also I have set the Arcade so that Guest will not even see it, and new members will have to post an intro as of today before they can play the arcade.

Thanks Triss, glad the Arcade is supplying some needed stress relief.  It is actually going better than I thought.

On another note though it is causing some weird stuff.  This morning I went to my profile and got a white page.  :ScratchHead:  Had to remember what I changed last night, looked at the error log and found the problem.  So if anyone has tried to access their profile since about 11:30 last night, till a few minutes ago, they would have seen the same white screen.

I'm working on getting the games moved into categories.  So far I've come up with the following categories:

Sports
Shooting
Wheels
Puzzles
Classic
Yeti/Pingu
Stupid
Other

If you think of any additional categories, let me know.  Also if I may ask for some help in deciding which category they all fit in.

I did notice the categories, but so far I am playing by looking at who beat my latest high score.  Love the competition!  That is the part that makes the games even more fun is having someone to try and beat and then waiting for them to beat you back.

Every little bit helps.  Those categories seem to be much broader, i.e lots of the classic's would fit the Arcade category as well as many of the shooting games.  I'm still not completely set on how I want to do the categories.  Their only purpose is to help the player find the game.  Right now we are all pretty much just looking at the index.

Yeah, I know what you mean Triss.  Dianna was doing that last night.  I got tickled at her.  It definitely gives you something to shoot for.

Worked on eliminating some more errors tonight and only have one left to fix.  It has me stumped but doesn't seem to be causing any havoc on the forum so I'm not to worried about it.  It has to do with the Arcade Shout box.

Installed 3 new games tonight.  The first one was Binggrae.  I think this is the game you were talking about Wrennie.  Also installed Parasitesi and Jewel Quest.

Any others anyone would like to see, let me know and I will see if I can find them.

Love the new games.  I think I have a hang of Binggrae but it is a difficult one.  Love the other two!

No more errors in the log!  Thanks to Triss for "shouting" a few times for me yesterday which helped troubleshoot the problem we were having with the Arcade shoutbox.  The shout string (shout$) was not being built when you didn't become the champion or beat your best high score.  All the rest of the time it was working.  Anyway after spending some time on the arcade author's website, talking to a few folks there, we came up with a line of code that works beautifully.

Couple of things that I'm not sure everyone knows.

  • 1.  You can mark games a favorites, then click on only show my favorites so you don't have to scroll through the whole list
  • 2.  You can rate the games by clicking on the stars. 5 stars if you really like it, less, etc.
  • 3.  We can have tournaments which are defined by number of rounds, number of players, etc.

Let me know if you would like more info on any of these.  Also if you have played a game online and would like me to look for it, reply in this topic with the name and I will see what I can do.

I looked and found one that is larger than the one we have.  It is the one with 2 gs in the name.  You must complete the board in order to same a score.  All the others were the same size or smaller.

It is a lot easier to read not that it make the game any easier.  I like the challenge though but not the headache I was getting before.
