I have made this bread twice now, once with the bran flakes, once without. Both turned out fantastic! I toasted a few slices and made tuna sandwiches on them... It's going to be hard to top that.

This one looks good.  I think I would like to try it as well.  I always love dark breads when we go out to restaurants but have never been able to duplicate one.

That is how I felt, Triss. I've tried a few other recipes and never found one I liked. This one is awesome!

Oh goodness, recipe 4??  I'm still trying to find time for recipe 1.  Arg! 

But, I love, love, love, love, looooove pumpernickel (and rye) bread, so perhaps I will be skipping some recipes...
