I was mowing the back field yesterday and saw this plant. After I put the tractor away, I went back out to take a picture of it. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it is? :grinnnn:

I went out today to see if it had bloomed yet, but no such luck...

No idea what it is but I cannot wait to see the blooms.

It looks a lot like a kind of Gentian, but I'm not sure exactly which one.

It could very well be a prairie gentian, Annette. I had some lisianthus at one time and the birds may have planted it over by the drainage ditch. I didn't make it back out there in time for the blooming... ::)

Thank you! :NewHug:

You are very welcome  :grinnnn:
I found this one growing and identified it as a Closed Gentian. The blooms never did open.
