I Can't Remember Its' Name...[Solved] Persicaria Orientalis (Kiss Me Over The..)

This has been growing under our deck. The seeds must have fallen out of a basket I had hanging on the railing last year. I can't remember what it is, though... :Groaner:

It has totally taken over the 4:00...







Any ideas?

I have a bunch of that growing as well, but I thought it was weeds.

I have been googling and am thinking that the leaves of kiss me over the garden gate don't quite match the leaves on this one, Sarah. Am I just seeing crooked? :unsure:

I went outside to look at them again and can tell you that the leaves are "strappy", not heart shaped like I read about the KMOTGG. Also, the little "balls" that make up the flower don't open up into bloom like petals. Does that help? :unsure:

Seeing if an even closer close-up will help get this identified for sure...







I am not seeing any flowers on this plant, only the beads. Could it still possibly be the "kiss me over the garden gate", Sarah? The beads are not "fluffy" at all...

Well, I have come to the conclusion that maybe the pictures I googled were older than the plant that I have. I guess that is why it looked a bit different to me. :grinnnn: Guess I was seeing crooked...

If the seeds are those little ball things on top, I will have some more growing next year, also. I thought it was very pretty... :BigGrin:
